Talked to old man about it and he said it won't be anything to do with the bug. He basically said that they need a huge burn off every now and then. And if it gets too bad the whole EGR system will block up with crap and eventually need to come off to be cleaned. He seemed pretty sure that you can cut the filter out and replace it with pipe if you put the sensors back in.

Yeah that^ It's nasty. Dad gets them frequently, it's usually farmers filling up out of their crappy farm tanks. Generally requires complete strip of fuel system and clean out and is great for causing thousands of $ of damage to fuel pumps.

No one in wellington can fix them. You are looking at rimrite up here in palmy or elite in CHCH. Unfortunately both are useless in regards to time frame. If they are rotas just buy a new one. They are cheap enough. It will cost you more to repair.

Yeah I've never had too much drama with that. I seem to remember having more problems with autos haha. You shouldn't need to remove motor in RWD. I'm about to do clutch kit in my corolla and I'll just drop the whole motor because it's easier in FWD I reckon. Also it gives me a chance to check everything easily like alt and starter. +1 for getting fly machined. Mine vibrates so hard that the fender mirrors goe out of alignment...

Oh yeah that was me with an axe to get the door open, same on left rear lol. Too much oversteer that I couldn't power out of and clipped the inside of the corner and it just tipped it over. Pretty funny.
