  1. Nah no ramps. Still get 2 wheels going and still better than open. Considering the purchase price was $125 and it will probs cost $1250 to get a decent LSD in there I say you're winning
  2. Damn you lol. Yes you got lucky. Clutch type LSD. 3.9 8inch.
  3. I need something to put at the top. Ideas pls?
  4. Oh shit now you mention that mine did it also. Probably didn't help that I drilled the shit out of the bottom of the air filter box for more doorts.
  5. Is it digifant or k-jet motor? Mine sometimes would take ages for the starter to do anything after the key was turned.
  6. Get soda crystals from supermarket and make as strong mixture with hot water and leave the carbs in over night. The crap will fall of in the morning when you run it under a tap.
  7. The key to building a great project car is to add dimensions where ever you can?
  8. I'm sorry to hear this. I single glow my Corolla on cold mornings and casually forget to in summer and it starts about 3rd compression because Toyota. The answer to OP's problem though is obviously more fuel. And if that doesn't work, up the compression / buy a new motor.
  9. Sweet. I will put a paid next to those who do.
  10. Any machinist can fix that. It's just a matter of getting the snapped ones out and putting new ones in? Specialist wheel place are going to charge heaps (not that it would worry him if hes rollign 22's on a BMW) and I've heard more bad things than good about 41`.
  11. Any luck with pencil sketch? Your idea sounds better than mine Al.
  12. Yep the pedal box will work. I think a carina pedal box will work too. I can't remember about the drive shafts. If I remember correctly they are a different length between manual and auto but the spline may be the same. I would get all the box etc done and worry about the drive shaft last. If you are using the standard diff all you will have to do is find a drive shaft from a manual car. Or one that is the right length.
  13. haha awesome I think every project update should have a TLDR section at the end.
  14. No worries man, holla if you have any other problems. Sometimes people put lots of tow out on for racing. When you stamp on the brakes the front of the car goes down and the wheels point more together. If you have the tow out to start with when you go to brake and turn the wheels come straight again and the car turns in properly.
  15. The rear will be because you have lowered it and the design of the diff setup with the panhard rod means that when you move the car down the diff will move sideways. You can fix that with a shorter (or adjustable) panhard rod. The front will probably just have too much tow out. Don't take any notice of steering wheel position. Do the tires wear more on the inside than the outside? Cars should have a slight tow out to keep them stable but not enough to scrub the tyre. If it's insane you can fix it with a piece of string. Wrap the string round the car and the wheels so it passes through the centre of the rim. Put the steering wheel in the middle and adjust the tie rods until the string touches the front and rear or the rim. Then go back in a bit for mild tow out. If you are not sure on how much is ok then you should probably get a proper wheel alignment.
  16. Is he on here? He was the first person to put my blog in his bloglist way back when and I always keep up to day with his but never seen him round the net (that I know of).
  17. That is exactly what we don't want ^. lol limit speed. You do that with the throttle.
  18. Just draw it with a pencil, take a photo / scan and I can do it.
