  1. So, Turns out the parts car for my VW K-70 project is way better than the one I was restoring, 20 000 miles since new, yellow with mint blue interior. Even has the blue plastic on the kickplates from factory and drives like a new one. The problem, the back bumper is pushed into the boot, along with the taillight's and the rear panel, hence no go since the 80's What I need is someone who is good with the chassis puller, I think most of it will come out with the right equipment. Problem is no one wants to do that part of the job but not the rest- or take me seriously. Any GC's that have access / skills who want a good cash perk?? Or can anyone reccomend someone to talk to? Will put a pic or two up tomorrow so you can all see the carnage.
  2. now that is a find! So jealous I couldn't make this, I bet everyone would have been bored to death with my vintage car ramblings.. 1912-21 Vulcan 20-25hp motor, about three litres, rare beast but they sold well here in NZ. There was even plans to open a factory for them here in NZ about 1908, A twin cam six was made as early as '26 and a prototype V8 was made around the same time. Should look like this Where the rest of it? I want that engine polished up and in my lounge Rad photo's by the way
  3. Keen, will try and operate/start something built pre 1970- but it may be two wheeled
  4. Fuck history repeats.. I had same issue with 180B back in the oldschool, melted fusebox was result. wiring loom had been rubbing at the bulkhead and a relay had stuck (voltage regulator?) from memory. Blew my headlamp bulbs as well. I say follow your nose to the melted wires.. has anyone yanked the stereo out recently? probably some wiring atrocities behind dash
  5. 10 speed, Pm'd R100 you got any background info on the bike?? Jake, keen to see CB250, you made project thred yet? Is it an old shape one?
  6. So spotted this sweet pile o rust late night trademe surfin brought for sweet fuck all,last thing I need, another incomplete bike project.. cheers to lownslow for another distraction.. Arriving home, check out mean rear sprocket and fail rear rack and seat combo Super rusty tank, fixable just- but under fake norton badges were original winged Honda badges- score Stripped, tank just sitting for looks, ordered new battery box covers and front guard from ebay, from chassis # turns out its a 1963-65 Honda CD90 known as SS90 in some markets, first of the OHC motors and the last with the classic small tank frame, joy will fit modern CDI lifan or similar 125 and poss 15" wheels, drop bars and single seat. Rear guard has been ground off as someone shortened it in an attempt to make a dirt bike out of it and welded the remaining lower part half way up the frame.. Will have to refabricate a rear guard or modify a C50 tail to suit- or leave it cut dunno yet will see after sandblasting.. How it should look ;
  7. seems to be a lack of primer patches down south.. Good turn out tho, be lucky to get one that big in Wgtn or Auck even
  8. Please stay away from nolathanes, dont try to improve on perfection (Morris roadholding) besides those bottom trunnions so wont appreciate the lack of rubber cushioning etc. Lever arms are so sweet, use heavier oil to uprate, easy as I love lever arms Anti roll bar and anti tramp bar FTW You got the lowlight guards as well? Full lowlight conversion would own, with Alta and shorrock of course
  9. Looking mint, those things are a pain in the arse to prep/straighten what happened to the lowlight 4 door stz? Or did I dream that? Please adjust torsions at next available instance please, ta What wheels you going with? You rollin crossplys or goin for the van wheels?
  10. Cool, bet it will fly now. Now that thats done buy this please http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Motorbikes/Parts-for-sale/Other/auction-265066024.htm
  11. Hard out, pour two litres of diesel in the engine. run it round the block a few times then dump oil and get good quality filter.. Should be sweet, also remove pressure relief valve and scrape all the gunk out and replace spring, if the old boys been neglecting oil changes there will def be a problem there. otherwise your droppin the sump mate
  12. Lovin all the BL products gettin love on OS lately.. You folded down the seats to make a double bed yet?
  13. Rover Rad I think its cool, thats all that matters..

  15. Best car on here, sell to me please. Seriously, a great little car a well sorted one will carve up most rice rockets
  16. http://retrorides.proboards.com/index.c ... 503&page=1 Read thread and do what others have done = win
  17. weld some fins on the block and head and chuck a giant fan on it. Aircooling = win
  18. K33n for pick a part, theres some random as shit up there at present..
  19. Actually got it pretty right for once, infact most lucas coils are marked CB (contact breaker- and SW (Ign switch). A coil will work whatever way, but if you want it right it depends on the coil, older types ran thicker windings and also the addition of ballast resistors fucks everything- then you have to swap them round. Just leave positive earth and isolate stereo from the body = win and working ammeters. Also some ammeters will catch fire if you change polarity, even if you swap the leads. Usually happens during a long run. Smiths are good for this, just a point to be aware of. Alternators are also on my list along with spoilovers, pintos, bright coloured bateries in engine bays, silicon leads, stainless wire wheels, 2K paintjobs and car club badges- list of things that ruin all pre 60's and most newer classics IMO
  20. Leave in fuel for a week then pull the steel bits clean from the rubber works honest
  21. Hey man, Lucas is all sweet man, no need to spread anymore myths of lameness where their not due. Praise the prince of darkness
  22. By regulator I think you mean starter solenoid, if it's clicking the starter is the problen, which is common, pull it out and give it a clean up and check your brushes, if they're under 15mm replace them. Or hit with hammer, that seems to work with escorts
