  1. I'm starting Uni on Monday after spending 4 years in Renovations/Construction. I'm going to need to find some ways to keep paying the mortgage, so I'm offering my services to OS. Spent two years doing Bathroom Reno's and am more than happy to consult on such matters . I'm happy to work in with you, do as much or as little as you want etc. Cheap rates (varying depending on job). Also very happy to teach you to do it for the future. Can do: >Building - Internal/external >Basic Plumbing - Swapping taps/toilets to full bathroom fitouts etc >Plastering/Painting - Not keen on big jobs, patches/cracks etc >Landscaping - Concrete paths, retaining etc. No real knowledge of plants sorry >Basic electrical - Swap switches/powerpoints etc (don't tell your insurance company/was like that when you got it) >Any Labour - Yup, just need work really. I am very well aware of my own abilities and limits in all of these areas. I will not take on jobs beyond my skill level and leave you in the shit. I will look at doing bigger jobs like full bathroom renos during holidays. I'm based on the Shore and I'll travel depending on job and location. Being a student I am not available for 40+ hour weeks, my maximum workday is probably about 4-5 hours before or after lectures. This is not just for OS, if your Auntie has a leaky tap then tell her to give me a call/text - 021 0249 3707. Text is better, if she calls me during a lecture I'll hang up on her.

    DIY Aircon

Lol, I lived in Devonport for 20 years and spent the whole time thinking that was a driveway. Following this, retrofitting A/C to SA60.
  3. Brad from AVS is 'XS1V' on Toyspeed. Mega GC, is wiring my 85 atm.
  4. I've got one here off a 1S-U you can have for postage...
  5. Altezza 3SGE would be an easy swap too. Engine mounts bolt up, bellhousing bolts up....
  6. So ya, really keen to hear ideas for replacing that trim. Either sourcing an original or making a reproduction?
  7. One year on I have something to update I bought another wagon for parts over NY, and have swapped several panels over including the mirrorless front doors (only 1 atm actually). So this meant actually getting the fender mirrors I bought ages ago, onto the car. They are electric ones from a Corona coupe the same as Simon's. The parts car is a CA67 (ultimate poverty spec), with a twin headlight setup that I'm not using. I did however want to use the front guards as they are super tidy and already have holes for the mirrors, got one swapped over and THEN realised that the headlight/indicator brackets are totally different. It was getting dark at that stage, so a hole was drilled to make the HL fit-ish and I've spent the last ages driving around without an indicator while I welded up the rust in the other guard (my first ever patch ). Got it back on the car today with the mirror (after killing two hole saws). Can't wait to get the other side done! Will have to be next weekend I think. Also, fuck. The trim I had the mounting points repaired on has disappeared . I spent hours retracing my routes everywhere, but couldn't find it. I certainly don't expect to find one in NZ, Ewan says he's too busy to contact wreckers around japan and all that comes up on the yahoo auctions for this car are boss kits and brake pads. I had an idea that it may be possible to 3d scan the trim from the other side, mirror image it and print? Or any other ideas? Dead brakelights

Awesome. Cheers for that. I was hoping there would be some simple test. Sounds like a job for smoko tomorrow.
  9. I'm a bit embarrassed to ask this, but I really can't be bothered fucking round on the driveway in the dark when the air is thick with mosquitoes. Brake lights (both sides and high stop light) have decided not to work. I remember that most cars have a fuse labelled 'tails' or something, but I can't find that on my carina (same as *t14* corona). No other blown fuses on the board. Is it likely to be the switch on the pedal or fuse located away from main board? Basically just looking for most likely causes to try and make this quick. In the time it took me to check the fuses I got more that 30 mozzy bites
  10. Awesome to keep an eye on my old baby , looks like you're doing her proud. Put up the list of existing mods.

    PAINT THREAD

Where is a good place to buy paint around the Shore/Auckland if you don't have access to a trade account? Much of a muchness? Just got a Devilbiss Starting Line kit and pretty keen to start spraying some shit.
  12. You nailed it Roman. Especially, especially the wagons.
  13. Racing slicks on KE70 aye? Legit. Will be fun with a 3S!
  14. I'm considering buying lloyd's carina from Dunedin, just exploring ways to get it home. I would happily pay for diesel and the ferry to get the car to welly if someone wants to get there, or even all the way to Auckland. Is a wagon, so there's space for stuff. Call it a free trip/transport. Sam 021 0249 3707.
  15. Bad. Is it this model/shape I saw at a wreckers up in Northland with a 2A engine with twin carbs? Shit was cool as all hell.
  16. I think I saw this down in Cheltenham a while ago? Looked cool on G5's.
  17. Same engine as my wag, it goes quite well.... for a 1.8 sohc carby engine. That 1s has some weird equipment, what is that dizzy off? It's not the standard one.
  18. Gc. Will be in touch. I wasn't that keen to open one up, this is just to keep it reliable until 3sge swap, roman style
  19. The 1S-U in my SA60 is getting sicker and sicker, runs very low oil pressure etc etc. I have a spare 1S that I was thinking of freshening up but then I started whether I should throw a 2S engine in instead (2000cc vs current 1800). I've been on wikipedia, which tells me that my 1S makes (made) 74kw and 152 N·m of torques. An Aussie 2S-C makes 73kw and 157 N·m. Does anyone know these engines well enough to tell me why 200cc more makes less power and only slightly more torque? Bore is increased by 3.5mm and stroke remains the same at 90mm. I also know that 2S-C has awful stuff like an airpump to put more fresh air into the exhaust to reduce emission readings. Could I use a 1S head and 2S block?
  20. I've got a brand new, standard K50 clutch plate(/whole setup, can't quite remember) here that you can have for beer money?
  21. Agree. The satisfaction gained by doing everything up to spec is great. I need a new one, I broke mine jumping on the end trying to undo hubnuts on mrs' ae110/need breaker bar too
