  1. Removing dent from a fuel tank? Car sat on the ground sans wheels so a portion of the tank got pushed in so more of a depression than a dent Have got popped half of it out hammering a wooden pole thru the fuel pump hole but cant get to the corner to finish the rest of it off Tack weld a nut on the base and slide hammer it out? Make up some blanking plates and use a waterblaster to hydroform it or compressed air?
  2. Dug thru my stock of engine mounts and rubbers today and found a combo that will work. Bit of plate for the mounts to sit on and some box section off the chassis rail will work Got a few things stripped out of the engine bay and mocked up how the intake will go. Making an air box will be required but thats easy enough and iv got an idea for something a bit different EFI fuel tank out of an 08 hilux is a bolt in swap but this one sat in a chassis exposed to the elements for a while so didnt have much luck with removing the old rusty fittings for the fuel filler etc without the bolts snapping so map gas and patience is working at the moment
  3. Always had a soft spot for these catfish
  4. Link to an aftermarket alloy one so I can tape meauser the hole?
  5. Il get a couple of pics next time im at the ute showing what I have to work with. Its a bit of a tricky one as cutting out radiator support cuts most of the front panel of the body. Im limited by height because of the chassis in the way under the body the bonnet at the top and headlight supports at the sides. Going to a non electro clutch on the SC would get me alot more space but how am I supposed to have a GO BABY GO button the top of the gearstick if I loose that
  6. Option A is a no because its not a trophy truck Option B is the next best option but still dubious of cooling capacity, I want to do skids without it turning into a kettle instantly
  7. So yeah scratch that idea for a FC radiator working. Got the motor sitting as far back as possible and iv only got 40ish mm between the front of the 1G supercharger clutch and the the front panel of the engine bay. Lots of room for a radiator but its got to fit the drivers side of the engine bay
  8. What sorta radiator does the 1G starlet run as this is for a 1G
  9. Would a 13b turbo rx7 radiator be sufficient for cooling a boosted 2L engine. I'm limited for space with my engine swap but a 3 core alloy FC radiator looks like it will fit in my limited area and I know dorito motors like to run hot
  10. Productive day at the Powershed Got the modified sump and pickup onto the GZE, installed spigot bearing flywheel and clutch to engine and offered it up to the engine hole Much fucking around ensued because of the loooongboi crank pulley and SC clutch on the GZE making a small engine rather long so pressure plate and clutch off the engine slide the gearbag back as much as possible rotate the engine 45 degrees in the engine bay while tipping it to precarious angles then scrape swear and twist til its in there Gearbag tunnel needs a slight massage to fit one of the heater hardline/mod the hardline as the engine is sitting not quite center and on a slight angle as the photos show This is minimum clearance on the draglink for steering which I hope is certable @cletus AAAAND I have minimal room for a radiator thanks to looooongboi pulleys but I will get the engine in its final position before measuring where how much room there is to play with. The bonnet closes still which is nice but I dont wanna have to deal with putting wheelbarrow in the firewall as tunnel notch with all the bullshit of having to move everything back shorten the Dshaft etc
  11. Those grom ripoff dashes are surprisingly functional for how cheap they are. Bit of a diddle to calibrate them but do the job nicely once you get it sorted
  12. A 3Y filter housing looks similar to a K series. I wonder if it would have bigger oil galleries
  13. Got it loaded on the trailer and trucked off to @MaxPowers shed this arvo. Even gave it a bath at washworld on the way to get rid of 10 years of barnfind smeg
  14. Can you measure the spacing of the block engine mount studs/bolt holes for me plz @Roman
  15. Or climb in there with a couple of wood props and a scissor jack like ghetto portapower. Get it to shape enough then let water do the rest
  16. Spin the coil 180 degrees so the lead is on the trailing side and pack the plug boot with grease. Its ghetto but it works
  17. Keen to see this offered up to the hiace engine hole and see how well its going to fit
  18. Looking like a barn find but atleast the sheds tidy. Found all the bits I need for the engine swap and its ready to get trailered off the fab mans house
  19. And to answer the first question, its probably already full of oil since I splash some down the plug holes when I turn it over. Iv found a guy with skills and tools who likes to be fed PGs in return for fab services
  20. Itl be with me on the train next time im heading to ktown during the week and il run it up to ya at work
  21. Do you want your guard roller back? I found it today while doing some tidying up
  22. Haha 6 years of nothing except putting the reg on hold and turning the motor over by hand every so often but plans are afoot so watch this space
