  1. My money on that. Not saying this is 100% certain the problem however. But I had the exact same problem on disc rear, nothing I did would balance them. Pulled the proportioning valve out (4 or 5 port on firewall on my ae111) took it apart, cleaned the crud out and bang 100% balanced brakes. Been a couple years now and brakes still pretty balanced. There was like a 1/4mm ring of build up just stopping one piston (whatever) moving easily, washed the parts with brake clean and they came up like new. Pain to take apart, but a free repair. Apart from the brake fluid lost to remove / replace the valve.
  2. Hey guys, thanks for the replies. Just been out to take some pics. Keen to know what A, B and C are. Can be either to the inside or outside, just need to know where they are taken from. Also keen to know the measurements at the jacking points front and rear. Again, can be either to the inside or outside of the points used for the jacks. Lastly the overall width of the sills, at rear doors if possible. Cheers!
  3. For $15 I thought you had got a few cans of blue and done the wags the downside to only reading pictures. Bronze looks the business
  4. The white one? Flat stick at work but will try have a hoon past, cheers. If anyone on here can help with measurements that would be awesome though.
  5. I have searched online to no avail. Best I could find was 2 door measurements. I'm not 100% sure if they would be the same or not (if you know, let me know). So i'd like to get some measurements for a 4 door. Basically just want to know if mine is roughly right, or if I need to get work done on it. There is no obvious damage at all, i'm just wanting to be extra sure. Mainly around the rear guard sections. Anyone got one handy that they could throw a tape measure at for me? I will get under the car on the weekend to take some pics so measuring points can be in the same places. Would be good to get a couple examples to work out an 'average'. As the build quality seems a bit lax in areas... Any help would be great
  6. Direct from Mitsubishi not an option?
  7. So true haha. Just strap it in well would be my advice. Have transported my CO2 cylinder around in my car. I just laid it down in rear foot well and wedged seat back against it. Unless someone drove full speed into the cylinder and took the valve off i'd say you'd be fine. After the quakes down here we came across a few 45KG LPG cylinders that had walls fall on them and were dented Would take a LOT to make a argon cylinder go off. Much like how if you crash it will put the fire out, you won't likely won't be around to deal with the consequences so why worry.
  8. I'd say the cost of the course is less than the lost wages from having no/less work for 6 months due to no full license.

    4k rebuild

Makes no sense if the engine isn't finished really.

    4k rebuild

My suggestion would be to get someone that builds engines to put it together for you. At least then you know it won't last 6 months before needing another rebuild if you do something wrong. Just my opinion though. Nothing against doing things yourself, but there are times when it's not the best option. No point saving on the cost of getting the engine built if the engine dies soon after you build it yourself due to it not being done properly.
  11. That's genius, so simple. I got stuck at thinking of something you could grind down to fit
  12. There is no way I can buy one now when I have been provided with such awesome blueprints! Cheers lol I have an old roof rack out back which when chopped up lots, would build such a frame. Add chicken wire and i'm most of the way sorted. Mrs caught me plotting the other night Being a cat lover, she was rather unamused and loudly proclaimed this So I pretty much need to carry on to make it worthwhile.
  13. Yeah will give them a call, and make a donation if they can sort me out with one.
  14. Will give SPCA a call and just ask for advice / giz trap. I have nothing against cats in general, would have one if someone didn't have major allergies to them. Thanks for the sweet suggestions though....
  15. That would be cool, never really thought about making one.
  16. Hmmm Dunedin is a fair drive. Will see if anything pops up locally cheers though!
  17. Lol, yeah has crossed my mind Just hoping for an easier solution first
  18. Just seeing it anyone out there has one I can borrow. Not after one that kills, just catch and release. Just need to teach the local cats that i'd prefer they shit somewhere else. So will be offering free showers to try and deter such behaviour. May or may not work. Colourful language has not worked thus far. Doesn't seem unreasonable to me, just had it suggested to me that they don't tend to like water.
  19. Unless diesel. -e- too slow
  20. Don't think you need odometer is required. Well on a petrol anyway as they don't really do much. Diesel certainly a different story. I'd say GPS isn't legal for the exact reasons you state. Needs to work all the time. Tunnels / forrest covered roads etc would give you no reading.
  21. Paint some on a bit of metal and see if it dries? Could be wrong but 1k should dry quick and 2k may not as needs hardener. Probably best to wait on pro advice, but yeah.
  22. Proper irons are large and heated on a gas burner for ages to get up to temp. not your typical home jobbie though which tends to be crappy 50w electric irons. anyone use one of those 100w gun sort of looking ones? any good?
  23. Using flux? If not it's like night and day for getting solder to stick. That was when I did some galv soldering anyway.
