  1. If you need to tow a trailer, put bike in trailer, problem solved. That storage looks sweet!
  2. https://basisnz.co.nz/products/sku297-920 Close? they might have other options, I only did a quick look. I know it's not CHCH, but not too far / postage should be fark all.
  3. Bolt some chain on it? Unless it was the tool that broke and not the crown screen. I'm sure guitar will work anyway.
  4. I just used a brake cable off a push bike, took a bit of sawing, never broke a screen. Was ~80ish corona, so likely same deal. Hot would be pretty sweet idea, but that urethane or whatever it is, is hardy no matter what. Did it by myself, but a mechanically mind helper would make things easier.
  5. No luck here, gave it a shot, but that shit is well stuck. I needed a battery welder so I could bang another nut on the sump, that would sort it I think.
  6. Best i've got is a warehouse spec set of bolt extractors, will that do the trick? Got a pipe wrench too. I can probably try take a "detour" today and attack the sump bolt at least. PM the addy?
  7. Couple weeks, minus vegas trip, so about 1/10th the time i'd like to be there haha. Will look that area up in the morning cheers.
  8. Sweet, good to know! Yeah having looked at the map, it's looks stupidly big. Plan to hit Vegas, but no further than that. Accommodation wise, no idea yet. Any suggestions on good areas that won't cost silly money? Hoping to work out some options this weekend for accommodation, to avoid it getting too spendy. Inadvertently picked a busy time to go, July. Somewhere quieter to stay would be good, as will grab car for the whole time now, so happy to commute wherever. Not sure if Motel / Hotel / Holiday Inn spec stuff is the way to go or what. Preference given to areas i'm not likely to get shot.
  9. For those that have done the LA thing, what is the best method for transport? I was thinking of renting a car for the whole time as it's not THAT spendy. But i've read the traffic can be a bit shit. So I guess there is metro buses / trains, but perhaps dealing with traffic is worth the freedom to go wherever whenever. Experiences?
  10. Pesting tomorrow as well? Up to my elbows in garden DIY today
  11. Who has he asked to transport it? I've had a dead car moved by Jeffs before. CaptainTransporter quotes ~$500ish for a non runner welly to aux
  12. Post up deets for civic bee when you know, i'm always keen to round off some nuts. I can probably help with the car too
  13. Supermeows hah! I got a set off Beaver second hand, for mrs' old daily, zero issues. Have also had hiflys on her new daily, again zero issues. I've also had high performance tyres on other cars, due to the usage the car got. Something had to tame the 20V and I don't think supermeows come in low profile 17's
  14. Let me guess, said tyre was fine the last time you checked it, back in 1993. Do you just never maintain anything you drive?
  15. Damn those look sweet! Could surely make some coin flicking them off around this time of year. Mrs would be gutted if she saw that. At least mine isn't on OS
  16. Tried the SuperCheapAuto parts finder thing on their site?
  17. You really shouldn't have told me about Turo... They have boring cars too, for similar money to the normal car rental places. But sort by high to low price and dreaming is good.
  18. Copied that link into google, couldn't work out why the site didn't look all that legit. Then I noticed it's spelt "rental scars" http://www.rentalcars.com On the same topic though, any experience with "exotic" rentals, short term like a day in an old muscle car etc.
  19. Any clues on who you'd contact to get owner details on plate that has been issued, but never registered to a car? NZPost, NZTA?
  20. What have you done so far then? Have you contacted Darryn at the above link, he had nothing? The RockAuto link one doesn't suit?
  21. Set fire to the set, then pick out the railway iron from the smoldering mess, 3D print 4000 new sleeps and slide them on. Job done. But in all seriousness, even if you get the track off the deck, you'll probably spend hours tidying up the sleepers. Could always pull the iron out, then remove the sleepers as they should flex upwards, then reassemble by sliding the iron back in. What guage is it? Was some barry selling some train stuff at ric market the other week, can't recall if there was track too, but he had a box full of rolling stock. OO/HO From memory
