  1. Logic also dictates that if you make a battery not last a long time, you can sell more batteries. Guess which logic a battery manufacturer goes with?
  2. Just hook it to the wall, job done / acid in many places. Or wrong power flavour?
  3. Ah yeah didn't think about that loading. Banana shock anyone? My rear shocks came with similar length sleeve which doesn't make sense (to me) when you have a shock with that much thread to make use of. I ended up swapping mine for sleeves twice as long. Eye is pressed into bottom of sleeve so different design in that area.
  4. Could add gussets full length of the sleeve?

Water trap at compressor is wrong. Do some homework on that. Pretty sure it's pointless in that location. As mentioned above, cooling is needed. There should be plenty of guides online as to how to set it all up for best results.
  6. Yeah doesn't look like it's first rodeo, that wheel arch.

Yeah i've gone away from air for most of my stuff, so I have a $1500 compressor to blow up tyres / balloons... Electric would be my pic too for big jobs. I tend to do smaller ones so roll a 125mm battery sander and a few batteries. Ain't no pristine paint jobs leaving my shed though. Air is good, especially if you have a big shop. But it's pretty noisy and a decent compressor is $$$ so you'd have to be pretty into it for that to pay off IMO.
  8. Yeah a quick google provides some pretty telling evidence that welding with brake cleaned metal is dumb. Can't help if people get upset at being called out I guess.
  9. You can do what you want. Someone has pointed out there are safer, better suited products for the job and you're not interested. Clearly you're not actually willing to take advice onboard so why even start an asking for advice thread in the first place. Even if it is for other welding issues. People swore by asbestos too, how did that work out. "I've used asbestos for years mate, haven't died so it's perfectly safe". Rhetorical question, I couldn't care less.
  10. Brake clean for its intended purpose is not the same as using it to clean metal for welding.
  11. You did good, good luck in the auction. Onwards and upwards. Next place need any work or you good to go?
  12. Probably better of discussing garage stuff in the house DIY thread in offtopic. Will get more eyes over it. A few will have done similar projects. Have a read of this https://www.duratuf.co.nz/infohub/the-30sqm-rule/?fbclid=IwAR3dQsnhQIc6hs6Q_xE6HGt9bYUil_EQxSaaBuxkQlZgDBNyb49fUrt3Wkc I think it covers your queries, distance to boundary likely to ruin your day.

Not the ideal result, but at least that mystery is solved!

How long did you leave the product on wet? If it's rust, in my experience you should be able to get rid of all of that. I then prepsol the whole lot from memory to have it clean as. Then epoxied. Speeno will know for sure though.
  15. As opposed to the trustworthy hands of the government who ignore the public? LVVTA seem to put all of the cert stuff out for consultation so that the public can have their input into the revisions of rules. Government is pretty useless at most of the stuff they have full control over so I don't see the problem. Housing and rental markets have gone down the toilets. Imagine if the government had the same control over the car related stuff. You'd be banned from any repairs and forced to buy a Nissan leaf if they had their way. Change my mind.
  16. Anyone has to be better than the government deciding such things. At least the LVVTA has a wealth of knowledge in the industry. Rather than an MP who got the management job because they were next in line. IMO.
  17. What sort of things do you think you have been unfairly failed on?

For the face you could have someone 3D print it exactly how you want it to look.
  19. Would be ken if we didn't have cases down here. But given some people aren't vaxxed, i'm going to sit this one out. Someone have a snag for me, always a solid turnout at Xmas. /don't hate the player, hate the game.
  20. How much space we talking. What about a long bolt, with a nut, and a section of pipe between nut and plug. Wind nut off the bolt, to push pipe on to plug and bobs your uncles dog. Just thought of that, so there could well be downsides I haven't had time to consider.

I would wonder what something strong enough to remove seam sealer might do when it gets into the seam. Small wire wheel an option?

Knife worked for me. Lots of knife.
  23. Depends if you are flash and want mix or can live with CO2. Owner cylinders for CO2 seem plentiful and relatively cheap.
