  1. If you get stuck for accomodation, my mum owns a motel in Alex so i might be able to organise a deal for you guys
  2. The wof guy in rotorua didn't say anything about the engine but asked what was wrong with the standard fuel pump, "they are bad for leaking I think" lol
  3. so far, drive it,track days etc and eventually tidy it up a bit

Headed down to Rotorua on Tuesday to pick up this machine and drove it to a mates place with no(very little) brakes Wednesday, Bled up brakes and it turned out the reservoir was dry, Took it in for a WOF and came away with a list: secure front park lights(tied up with cable ties until I find a valance for it) secure front brake hoses to struts(fixed- cable ties) drivers sun visor missing( swapped passenger visor over) gearbox mount broken (replaced with one i got given with the car) right hand outer tie rod end worn(have part but didn't want to replace before return trip an kill wheel alignment) leak in rear muffler rust in rear(under back on inside) after WOF failure we went for a drive out to tarawera lookout, car went awesome Thursday: stopped in at AA to get them to sign off the repairs i had done for warrrent, cos i figured that if i got pulled up i could explain that i had just bought the car and attempted to get it a warrent Made a few stops on the way home to Whangarei and holy s*&% i am impressed, took a few cellphone pictures and i will post them up in the next few days Plans: Finish the wof repairs from the list I got in Rotorua Go for another wof up here Find the source of the starting problems (winds then just free spins) Slam and wheels( 13"x5" and 13"x7" SS Cragers) Pull the heater and fan etc out of my other lancer Find and fit center console/cheap head unit Drive the shit out of it Doaskid Edit:pic from mates place in rotorua
  5. Did you get them sorted? Figures the one night you need ties I don't have any in the boot. cable ties wouldn't have worked. The plastic cup thing on the ball joint had a crack that opened when load went on it. Slept in wagon at dairy flat when it started raining again. Pick-a-part mission this morning was successful

  8. had the random idea at work last night to head down to woodhill with the bike for a play/look on monday. Any Auckland guys heading out that way that can be tour guide/show me up, would be keen for a short notice meet. Will depend on mates up this end cos riding solo sux

  13. hmmmm, might buy it and try and if it doesn't work i will sell it on. Are 8 bolt diffs all interchangable? this would be so much easier if my mitsi wasn't leaf spring
  14. I am considering buying thisthis for my lancer (1979 lb)as it currently has a welded diff (8 bolts around the diff head) My question is, will the diff head/axles/brakes fit onto my current diff housing (leaf spring) or is it not worth the effort
  15. my daily (st171 corona) has had the battery light on for about 18 months since the battery terminals got shorted (was being driven by previous owners gf), i got car to town and put my spare cressida alternator on. Charges at 14.3v and havn't had a problem but the light has been on since

After discussion with rbdrifter last night we decided on the date/time as for location, MAKAZ can we have it at your work as you suggested for last time/other suggestions as this happens to be my cakeday i may turn up drunk/on my vintage bike who is in come on people lets do this
  20. i have finally done some more work on this thing and wished i hadnt removed gauge sender and found this the tank after giving it a blast with the hose oh hai rust holes
