if it's fucked then it's fucked. No amount of flushing will fix it. As its especially getting so hot so quickly I personally wouldn't bother with it. I've had the same thing on a few cars and ended up getting them recored which in hindsight I should have done straight away. Otherwise Shouldn't be too hard to find something similar, but I think I recall seedy saying he thought it was pretty small so a good chance to chuck something bigger in!

What's the radiator like? Flushing it with a hose won't do jack shit (ask me how I know......) that at would be my primary suspect

It will rotate the wrong way, but not the right way. Spare pump goes both ways (pewuhuhuhu). So I suspect/hope it's something simple. Waiting to see how many limbs it will cost to get a diesel shop to take a look/service it

I think the tacho pickup is the one that sits in behind the injector pully (and is mounted to the font cover thingy). The common plug on the pumps is the fuel shutoff solenoid. Fuck knows what the other one does, will just pretend its not there.

had a wee play tonight and yeh nah it doesn't spin (spare pump will spin by hand albeit with a bit of effort) so I think it's a bit more than replacing a seal. Plus fuck touching that shit, there are a bazillion pieces in it. Will try find a friendly diesel mechanic to take a look at it and try get an idea of what it will take to fix. Got the pump off so that's progress right? Has three wires instead of only one on the current pump (one of the extras is a tps of sorts) so I assume it won't be any trouble to run it without the extra electrical shit

Just for my future reference No worries and the truck is a 97 safari the gq model also the injector pump was leaking so had a guy look at it but i dont know what he did to it but it no longer turned I had planned to put an other pump on it but got offered money for the truck to put a td42 in so did that

I understand they are a ve style, will look into whether the aneroid will swap but on first glance the housings looked different

Thread dredge! So I have just picked up a rd28t with a dead injector pump (yet to find out exactly how it's dead). I would rather not pay mega bucks to get the injector pump rebuilt/fixed, and since I have at least one decent rd28 (non turbo) pump (Raizer, any idea on the status of the spare pump that came with the car) I am thinking of simply whacking one of them on and adjusting fuel to suit. Is this a legit idea or should I be looking at getting the turbo injector pump back from the dead? Basically just want cho cho noises and roll some coal
