yes seats and belts can be removed without a cert. got a pic? if the angle iron is bolted to the original seat mounts, and the buckle is mounted straight to the angle iron, should be sweet if its in the right position ie not too far foward. if need be the lvv standard is here- http://lvvta.org.nz/documents/standards ... orages.pdf page 22 onwards for doubler plate requirements

would need TAC approval. might be a good idea to go on the lvvta forum and ask there before buying them, the guy that runs the forum runs the TAC meetings, they may have been talked about before http://lvvta.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general

dye penetrant test usualy fine. the person doing the test has to have a certain qualification which i cant remember off the top of my head. have a chat to kendall and he will tell you what he needs.

trucks reg as light vehicles- i dont know tbh. best speak to someone at NZTA about that one, i think you can reg a campervan as a light vehicle if its over 3.5 tonne but dont know what the regs are. wide steels, can be certed, if they are an old modification that you dont know who did them, then they should be stripped/checked/crack tested for cert, other option is supply a reciept from a reputable place that did the widening . its not a case of "X" certifier not liking them, its on the wheels checksheet we have to fill out. once the car is certed you dont have to check them again at every wof or anything like that. if they are welded properly theres no reason for them to crack where they are widened

neat car, looks like you do nice work! you shouldnt have trouble with cert, kendall is a good guy. -
depends on whats done to it. if its a traditional old rod with period mods then probably not. if it has a say injected late model v8/independent front/big brakes then yes. the thinking being its not really a originalish old car any more and someone has gone to the trouble to do that stuff then they can fit belts as well

yep thats fine
-
yes manual shift, in drive it shifts a bit early even with the kickdown adjusted right out, about 5000rpm
-
also got some eagers for maximum bogan spec

been a while.....can finally post pics now! got some roller rockers, had some 15" rims made up for the rear to run et street tyres. went to fathers day drags. went 13.3 @105mph, still on 5psi boost. 2.92 gears= 6000rpm in 2nd gear across the line. dont really want to put low gears in it cause with normal wheels on its good.
-
probably- the threaded plugs would have to be tig welded/crack tested and the heim joint would have to be a good one
-
will be interesting to hear this run! you should name each one when they are on the bike, like the 7 dwarfs

No cant legally be done. they require individual TAC inspection/approval, usually ok if they are a proper, designed for automotive use part (TAC = technical advisory commitee, group of knowledgeable dudes who get together once a month, to sort out oddball/outside the rulebook stuff, design approvals etc)

i had a burnt bonnet back in 96 flooded carb on an escort caught fire. yep....i was ahead of my time -
yep like K said if its your own light van then no COF or cert. unless you do structural stuff that would need cert, like a taller roof or a big hole in the floor to poo through.

brakes- a car that has over 50% more power than original, has to do 5 stops from 100-0 kph under 4.4 sec in a total of 3 min. You could try it yourself with a stop watch and see how it goes, it *might* pass with really good pads but i think it will need upgrading to a vented disc at least. seat belt anchs -will need cert, you could do that at the same time you get the engine certed and it wont cost any more. Fitting the anchorages is easy as. go to lvvta.org.nz look up seatbelt and anchorages standard 175-00 and go to the bit that says 'doubler plates'. the only tricky bit is getting them in the right place but any certifier should be able to show you where to put them.

That looks sweet! paint looks real nice with the chrome. Its come a long way, must be a good feeling being able to drive it again.
-
if theres enough material around the studs, its fine. a lot of wheels are available in 4 and 5 stud patterns on the same wheel with no problems
-
possibly....... but that could also be caused by timing being too advanced, as mentioned above, crank angle sensor fault etc. engine fires but tries to go backwards/breaks starter/backfires etc
-
does it crank over slow? these are notorious for starters shitting themselves.
