  1. Yeah I need to look at possible engine conversion for my 190e. The car itself is going really well, the engine is not doing that great. I have been offered a v6 and manual gearbox out of a VN commodore and know that this conversion has been done before. Anyone seen this or know more info on it?

Im voting for a jap v8 with some turbos slapped on for good measure.
  3. Bloody hell, you dont update for a bit and then you come back with it looking finished? More pictures please

Will hunt it down tonight if I remember. Surely it would be more work to shorten the wagon?

I have a copy of the rule book floating around somewhere. If you want to get serious about putting it on the strip I can lend it to ya. Also agree with the high stall convertor. Been a god send in our drag car.

Methanol would be a must for sure. So its just a tube frame and the rx shell is no longer on it? I say tub the wagon shell for sure. (so you dont have to do it later)
  7. This is totally sweet, we be so sweet to have a track hack along these lines.
  8. Its still a 40 year old + car regardless of when it was registered so I believe. Also I dont think its $80 for a year anymore, pretty sure they have put that up to $100 now.
  9. Steering column is mounted and with the aid of a ride-on lawnmower, this thing took a trip round the section. Forgot to take photos, will do so on wednesday.
  10. K, so no photos of the steering column mounted because we ran out of gas before getting to that stage. But here is where we are at. Making room for all the steel that will going in. The frame work for the dash towards the firewall (not even because the body isnt ) And just random shot of the alterd sitting inside its near completed trailer
  11. More steel work completed on this thing yesterday. So that is the frame section up to the dash complete and looked at how the steering column was going to be done. All going to plan, should have that mounted this week (maybe wednesday) and then thats a huge step forward for the car.
  12. Well it has been just that, a few months. So here is another weak update. Started the frame work for the body last night. Completed around the firewall and half done the dash supports. Hope to finish off the dash come sunday, and then the steering column can be mounted. Also have ordered some DB40 and high filler primer for the body, that shit aint cheap
  13. Words can not describe how sweet that beetle is.
  14. You should Z the chassis Dan. Its what I have done with my bucket and I reckon it looks so good.
  15. Roof chop could work, but not to the extreme of the photoshop.
  16. Last photo looks the business.
  17. Kerosene? Could you please explain how putting kerosene will clean it out?
  18. While on the talk of oil. My car is due for its next oil change, well a little of due to be honest. Is there a product I can chuck in there before the oil change that will help clean up the internals? Im sure its been mentioned before, but just wanted to check. Chur
  19. Pretty sure I have seen this car in the steel (was on someones front yard) and from the drive-by rubber necking that I did, it looked very nice for a Mazda.
  20. +1 to this. Such a wicked wee trailer. And I think all members need to build these kind of things. Very little work (compared to a whole car) for maximum profit
  21. Von Mako do you work for Magoo? Have you guys done much on that vintage front engine dragster yet?
  22. In relation to running no fenders? LTSA probably wont have it on their website, you need to visit the NZHRA website. Also you need to get in a hot rod club quick smart, because you need to be part of one as a financial member for atleast a year before you are able to apply for a fender exemption. Hope this helps, if not ignore me
  23. Just take it to a glazier and ask if they will do a cash job for ya. Down these ways its less then $60 a screen to fit, so surely must be cheaper to remove.
  24. O, if its just a replacement panel then I shall hold back the tears
