  1. Quite possibly ill have to dig the wireing diagram out, how do i test it with a multi meter? can i just do a continuity test?
  2. Well i got myself another car... this time a 1986 Suzuki swift It has a lighting issue that i cant figure out so maybe you guys can shed light on this issuse The headlights and indicators do not work, the instrument lights work but the turn signals and high beam lights do not work on the panel, checked all fuses they are all ok and all bulbs which are also ok (did this with a multi meter to be sure) and i am stumped.
  3. Hey dude i just noticed this on trade me, is the rust that that bad? would it be good to practice my welding on is it pretty far gone already and not really worth it?
  4. I know on a old chevette it had a bit like that to stop it going into reverse insted of first so assume it is for 5th/reverse i wouldnt go cutting it lol
  5. i will remove it completely when i get back from auckland but for now i just remover the 2 chokes and the shaft. runs so much nicer mate Agreed the auto choke on the DGAV is notoriusly bad in my experiences with them, remove the linkage and buterflys, you can also remove the choke and join the water lines together if you want. they run nicer just a bit harder to start and get up to temp haha. And if your auto choke if fucked parts are hard to come by so a manual conversion is a good idea.
  6. Went and saw these guys and they are sorting the car out. Any idea what they are going to charge you per spring? are you useing other springs as a current template if not how are you going to figure out the spring rate etc?
  7. Haha the naki is pretty mean to roam around a grew up there and my uncle use to work in those gas fields had mean as tours of those places. Has anyone done Urenui across to The Forgotten Highway and then back down to stratford, it is a mean drive though some tunnels and mint scenery, its all dirt and gravel untill you hit the highway though, i will try to dig up sum pics haha.
  8. i belive heating is a no no haha, also if you measure and cut nicely it should seat ok... i thought KE70 lowering springs were quite common? repco, supercheap do them but i wouldnt recomend them haha, maybe try snell's autolign, lovell(sp?)
  9. What do you mean didnt quite work haha? And also the type of car may also help.
  10. If your gona go 1600 id stay with a crossflow, 1600ohc are pretty gutless. A 2l shouldnt be that hard to find you mite have to do a bit of travel though.
  11. Did u put the clutch cable back on? And the forks are pretty hard to move by hand. What does the pedal feel like? my
  12. Hey dude how was the engine? all good i hope? I just remberd i still have a new tappet cover gaskit that was suppose to go with the engine if you want it? But thats a nice build, good luck with it.

    pinto build

What sort of build? judegeing my the books a a revving, big head build? got any particular aims for it?
  14. Check the boot hinges as well i had a few rust there
  15. ah ok so it would be a low comp pinto with transit gearing. i personly dont think it would be good at towing what you want to tow tbh
  16. What sort of transit? some are mean some are not so....
  17. Fumes lol? you sure you dont have an exhaust leak etc haha? But what engine is it? cant go wrong with a new filter, oil coolant. check the timing dizzy cap etc. Dunno why it wouldnt start when its raining unless its getting into the electronics
  18. SC12 or a SC14 will do a 14 mite be a bit big though. And need more info tbh, do you want to run a blow though etc? best bet would be to run a fuel injected set up but it would all have to be custom. Basicly how much money you got and how rangi do you want it haha.
  19. Yea TCA's Might have to take you up on that offer. Yea dude swt as, i will have a look, you can have them for the cost of postage.
  20. What do you mean? as in adj TCA's? And i know for a fact to get a reasonable height out of a sierra you need adj TCA's to correct the camber. which is what i think you mean? It will need to be certed but im not sure if they can be? you might need an engineers cert etc. but i probly have a set of sierra TCA's lieing around if you want to have a play.

    capri v6

Unless its a worked essex V6 But yea essex are a good motor. I prefer 2.8/2.9 myself not alot of tuning scope though nice and tourqey
  22. Woah dude that looks amazing have you got any specs?

    N/A 4g63

oh and if you are doing this try get a vr4 block, because a 6 bolt flywheel is much easier to find than the 7 bolt evo variety, but if you do get 7 bolt block a 94+ l300 flywheel fits. me and a mate found out the hard way haha.

    N/A 4g63

Yea thats the downside to the "Nissan range" the gearboxes go for crazy money but they are pretty strong and seem to handle alot of abuse. or rb30 block rb26 head big turbo hanging off the side etc haha But a +T rb can handle alot of boost and make good power aswell but its relli what you want otherwise you just wont do it or finish it haha. High comp tubos FTW

    N/A 4g63

Yea N/A sr20 would be mean so would 4g63 aswell but a twincam. High comp turbo motors rule, so responsive and sr20 can be done for pretty cheap depending on who you know. most expensive parts being a tune and gearbox. I dont know if this will apply to you but i have had a sr20 and box in a sierra it lined up without cutting a hole for the gearstick and fitted in the tunnel. it seems about the same length as a pinto and Type 9, well in my car anyway haha.
