Measured up mounts for seat. will cut and fold at work tomorrow then mount on the bike. once mounted ill remove and trim. Gonna drop headlight down on wed and mount lower bars . Then just taillight wiring and drill some holed in exhaust for more loudness then im ready for HFOS magazine launch ride/party
  2. Chopped some more bits off tonight and chopped up an old skateboard. looking good. couple more bits to mount. dont wanna do anything too major yet as the sun is still shining so wanna make sure its good to ride by the weekends
  3. Hell YES! So stoked for you bro. Thats an ideal base to start from You just gotta book your time of for OSNATS im riding up with a few other lads so you gotta ride with us when we up there. Love your inspiration bike too! Keep up the hard work!
  4. The Vin process was so easy. Pretty stoked. Done some mild mods today. just removed bit and peices. only did a couple hours work. Got it running better too. So front guard is now on the back. chopped it down a bit Gonna make up MK1 seat this week then will chop frame after a ride this weekend and do the seat i want to do. Happy with where its heading though
  5. REVINNED! WARRANTED REGOED Chopping time!!
  6. Superbad dude! Look forward to your progress! OSNATS is gonna be wild this year with so many bikes. Im planning on riding. I hope you are too!
  7. I quite like where your heading. Maybe follow that rear profile of the tank for the cafe seat? Im gonna chop my rear frame up for my brat seat. i think as long as you do a neat tidy job and paint it good enough they shouldnt pick up on it. Ill be watching your progress eagerley!
  8. I just got the grinder out and trimmed my plug. Had the welder going hard with no issues
  9. Beautiful dude!!! Stunning bike. love the plans! Keep us updated.
  10. Yeah i wanna see some riding pics too. I can dig the whole look tho. a frame/engine this size would suit a 16" rear and 19" front. I was gonna build my cb into a bobber but decided i will wait for a harley to do that. All these bikes in the build has me pining hard for OSnats next year. will be riding my cb for sure
  11. Choice project dude! I few things id change but its your bike Ive heard nothing but issues with these bikes if you run no airbox. Im hoping to get into chopping mine up a bit once ive got it revinned in next two weeks. Cant wait for OS nats. Gonna be so many bikes.
  12. Sorry about the lack of photos still. gotta get a decent camera. However ive been mucking around a little on this bike. Got small indicators all on and wired up. My mate Bad came around and got everything else working wiring wise. Put 2 new spark plugs in, and now runs good. Gonna get it revinned first week of jan then im good to go for chopping!!
  13. awesome dude! Watching closely!
  14. Hey Dude! I used a 2jz in tank pump in my 1200 wagon fuel tank. I cut a big hole in the top. welded a peice of 4 inch pipe into the tank all the way to the bottom with a couple 10mm holes at the bottom. then i welded a peice of 3mm plate to top of the tank so that the fuel pump unit could sit into the hole and bolt up to the tank sealing the gap. ta da all working Also used a fuel tank sealer once all welding was done to fill any pin holes. worked a treat
  15. Yeah my flatmate is a wof inspector too, as well as another mate and i looked into the requirements before i built it. Go for it i say!
  16. Yeah i was a bit of a bright light to them once they had seen it. I consider it well built. Really thick wall box section all round. 1500KG bearings, stubs, hubs, coupling. We have towed it up to 200 kmhr (On a race track of course) and it was really stable. That was with camber. I havent towed it further than the block of Hornby since changing the camber to 0 deg. will be interesting. I had two people enquire about building other slamilers but have passed as im pretty happy to have created one. It was fun having the camber based on the facial expressions you got when towing. Countless folk yelling out thier windows saying your Axles are bent! Haha Plan to build a front nose cone and enclose guards on the inside. Thinking of more of a bomber plane theme with a couple pinup girls on the sides.
  17. Just passed a AA Pink sticker Wof!! However ive had to remove all camber. Whilst doing that i slammed it more as they had no problem with slam. So now when sitting level slamiler sits 60mm off the deck. How bad! Guards still flush. Tires still stretched. Still Boss! Gonna have a beer now as i smashed about 10 hours into changing it up.
  18. Yeah talked to the AA man. He said no suspension no worrys. And yeah back in the day was a speed limit for them. Not now! And 200k runs are so much more fun with a slamiler on the back!
  19. Hey guys! Yeah first cop to follow it after 5 months on the road. And yeah didnt like it. We had towed it to Dunedin and back with 3 mopeds. Took it to rural swap meet about 60k outta town where we tested its stability at say 200 k and it sat real good Then we loaded it up with vintage bicycles and towed it behind Josh's Valiant. Got around town all weekend with no issues then when Gal was driving it home we got 10k North of Oamaru and got stickered Reasons were Axle Angle No Suspension Tires rubbing on guards Tires Exceed guards Tires only 1/4 on ground due to axle angle! Ive read the legislation time and time again and there is nothing about ride height/camber/stretch However there is 3 words which they will always have me on. "Fit for Purpose" Ive since taken it down to the local AA and talked to the manager He is happy with 50mm ride height. He is happy with No suspension. Happy with hella flush guards provided they cover the tread of the tires.Cool with the stretched tires So now juts have to cut and shut the axles s ive only got -5 deg camber and remount guards and take it thru Its just part of having the wildest trailer on the road i guess. Will be scrapping again by end of weekend!
  20. Dont listen to this lot. You are gonna nail it on the head with those wild wheels!!! What are the specs on the wheels?
  21. Fucking excellent photos of your trip dude! You have done well to build a custom bike in such a deadline time and then ride it a decent distance without too much a aissue. badfuckingass dude! Cant wait to start chopping my cb350. you have certainly ispired even more. Be gold to ride alongside one day!
  22. So after a bloody good mate letting me pay him off weekly ive finally got my hands on my 1969/70 Honda CB350!!! Its a real good original old girl. Gold/orange tank. All the chrome. Heaps of finned engine parts. Drum brake front and rear. Twin carb. 2 into 1 pipe. Sounds really good. goes pretty quick. Really stoked. Will work on photos. Until then here is an example of the simple summer classic i want make of it. Plans are for epic summer missions involving hammock tents and lake side fires and heaps of 70s classic motorcycles and good mates
  23. Big Congrats dude! Seriously cool new pad! All the shed space you need! Look forward to coming down and checking this business out!!!
