  1. if you can put a 4age in these, why wernt they all scrapped to rob the transmission for quad spinner AE86's and starlets this thing also needs a rear wraparound airdeflector
  2. yea, its pretty nice. same colour as my morrie. Twin peoples cars. should scrap the morrie and just have the vw tbh. Anyway, if the 230km drive from hamilton to opotiki doesnt scare my old man off, it sounds like hes going to take it. Must be getting old, just having one old car is enough for me now edit: also, christ my left arm hurts, need to bulk up to drive this daily again
  3. Is that your crown cAm? nah, prefer cash money, also got offered a nice 66 beetle, but should turn it down and have only 1 car. In anycase my old man is fizzing over this, so will probably offer it to him first/buy it back in 2 years
  4. Flew through its WOF really. put 3 months rego on too. only $33 for 3 months. Cruises very nicely, even passed some heavily loaded freighters going up TeRapa
  5. Sounds like you should just pick up the rear suspension from a morris minor
  6. Best driveway design out. Go for a lovely Kōwhai yellow on the frames. Your house is already weird
  7. do some heli's down the strand I look forward to seeing this thing jacked, on huge mudgrips/town&countries Bullbars with winch and blowing smoke
  8. That green looks very similar to the kind i put on my truck looks good, matches the dirt road/bush
  9. 7 pages and all thats happened is its been cleaned, Should put some massive wide steelies on it
  10. Took into VTNZ for a WOF today Failed But oh my, its the easiest WOF sheet iv ever had Align Headlamps Dip switch to work YYYEAAAHHHHA! Legal commer action coming to your roads probably tomorrow if its not pissing down tonight so i can align em
  11. Local blacksmith would do it (if any exist still, apparently the amish are great at it) Failing that a spring shop, or even better pull some out of a wrecker car. i would imagine you could build your own springpack to whatever you like if you get enough especially as this project wasnt going on the road was it, more of a rolling installation
  12. Got this thing driving smooth as. Hums along in all gears (i.e. humming, not violently shaking as one might expect) Steering is tight as, needs some air in the tyres as i got a hell of a workout just now. CBF laying under this in the rain and welding the exhaust, so il probably stop at an exhaust shop if it fails wof on that.
  13. Its all theoretical of course cant even take it on a track as i have no restraints. Will be content to chase down morrie thou's and other slow old cars
  14. Got my cylinder head in the shop right now. Should come back minus 0.060", taking compression from 6.5 to circa 7.5 (the old alloy race heads they used to make were produced as 8:1, and recommended that they were machined out to suit your valves and lower comp) The old ads claim a 10% power increase (in the 50's you didnt have to back that up however) So original 27.5hp Shaved Head 30.25hp Going from single to twin carbs and exhaust is estimated to be another 10% on top of that 33hp baby extra rpm is gained too With everything combined i should be expecting a new top speed pushing 80mph and heavily increased acceleration
  15. Is there power coming out of the Ign switch. Probably going to be a case of working backwards through the system (i had a fun one the other day, ign lamp would only come on when the ign was switched off haha)
  16. ha, the number plate is ftp. Is there a minimum height for a motorcycle?
  17. Stone the crows have done some work on this today. Remedied some dodgy vibrations in the drivetrain - front driveshaft bolts had backed themselves out. Played around with the steering, adjusted the drag rod ends slightly. Made some shims up for the steering box. Seems to have helped noticibly (only 2 inches of play in the steeringwheel, rather than the normal 5. I doubt factory would have been much better due to the design). Exhaust has a failed weld (and a few dents which i bet are the cause), so will tidy that up tomorrow. Oh, and i sorted out some electrics which i forgot to hook back up a while ago. haha, and here i am cursing the dammed fuel gauge for working when it wants Other than that exhaust, its all go for WOF this week. Makes sense the only time its road legal during my ownership is when i sell
  18. put me down for attending this month
  19. want to take one of my horribly slow vehicles to these. street legal, but no seatbelts probably doesnt fly
  20. wont matter once i bung a blower on it anyway have about 4.5mm valve clearance on a std cam (pretty sure il run into water jacket issues at that point), The area above the valves can of course be milled too.
  21. lets assume the area is another rectangle approx 52*62mm depth is around 10mm (deeper as you get towards the piston, and then slants up ) this gives 32cc so in order to get 27cc i want to mill off 1.5mm, or about 0.06" which doesnt sound to crazy does it
  22. ok gents, no one on here will want to know, but the head combustion chamber is 32cc per cylinder also approx volume given by the headgasket is 5.4cc deck height is 0.05in/1.27mm all these measurements give me a compression ratio of 6.65 which is pretty spot on Turns out i want to lose about 5cc per cylinder chamber (throw out the headgasket i hear you say) now to figure out what that means in terms of my oddly shaped sidevalve head volume
  23. shower sounds great. was hoping to be left a hilly patch up the back of the farm, like this. But its gone and been sold, and now they are doing exactly what i was going to do..... ahhwell be careful, someone is going to try kill you, so they can become you
