  1. After years of steeling this from my father, a deal has been struck, and now the family vk is mine. It is a 1985 Holden HDT VK SS, has been in my family since 1992 and was the family car for many years before it got pushed to the back of the shed in about 1996 and left to sit, until about 2008 when I pulled it back out from the darkness. The rego had expired as dad didn't know he had to redo it every year, so after a revin, and replacing a few fuel related parts (don't leave your car full of gas for 12 years) and other bits and pieces that didn't like sitting for so long, it was all go again.
  2. Ed, I, like I'm sure many others on here are, are very interested and impressed with your cars. I'm not trying to blow smoke up your arse, or trying to make you feel better, but you have a very enviable stable of cars that most would love to have. the internet is no way to judge ones life. If your internets and lack of "like posts" or even helpfull comments from normally helpfull to other people posts is getting you down. Go out to your shed, take a good hard look and smile yourself happy again. because you my man have a lot to be happy about. If I got the wrong end of the stick, disregard all of the above
  3. Damn you ! move to chch. I watched the shit out of shaker run on vhs as a kid. That and goodbye pork pie. 80's car movies are the best, real driving, and real crashes, no cgi crap. very jealous of you Auckland lads.
  4. Cheers guys, got a heap of crappy reasons why this got pushed into a corner 4 years ago, earthquakes, work, family, I could go on, but truth is, I just totally lost motivation for it, and there was no way it was ever going to be one of those unfinished projects for sale on trade me, so rather than do a half arsed job finishing it, I just ignored it for a while till I got my drive back.
  5. Pictureless update. will sort that out latter. Big thanks to Sam and the team at lineside auto electrical for sorting out my poor attempt at wiring a car up. It has life !!!!!! Light's, spark, fans, the works, and all done to perfection. Can't recommend them highly enough. Next, exhaust and fluids.
  6. Tail lights look the biz. Og's or repo's ?
  7. Action time. After sitting untouched for 4 years, and undriven for coming up 10 years, 2015 is the year. I have to let go and pay for some work to be done, as I just never seem to have any bloody time to work on the bloody thing. So that said, tomorrow it goes out for the first of a small list of things left to be done to finish it. First time in nearly 4 years that that garage door has been open. dirty little bitch needed as hose down Looking a bit cleaner, only gave her a quick whores wash. Back in her home, all be it only for tonight.
  8. So that means your nos sedan rear quarters will be up for grabs ? ? ?
  9. Steve Allan 10 Power road, Flaxton, Rangiora. Him and Trev do awesome work. Not the cheapest, but will be done right.
  10. USA day out at woodend tomorrow. no other details than that sorry.
  11. mmmmmmm, those bacon butties were goooood, could have had more than my share of those, had to fight the wife off, damn bacon theif. Think the slim turn out may have been partly because of Kaikoura hop, and trade me killing the swap meet, but still found an old boy with a box fill of badges with a selection of rx capella ones at the bottom. Ah the joy of digging through a shit load of boxes and finally finding something you wanted, all most as good as the bacon butties.
  12. Heading out in the morning, prob too late for all the good shit, but will have a look, hope the rain stays away.
  13. Have watched this from trademe sale to where your at now, and I have to say, bloody well done. You've not wasted any time on this, and done an awesome job. Love the bobtail and colour, being a south islander I'm not so down with the modgies, but the look of this is so 90's it really deserves to be on 13's of some type. Can't wait to see this roaming the streets of christchurch. I don't know if your brave or lucky, buying an unfinished project, sight unseen, that wasn't running, takes a bloody brave ( or crazy ) man. Either way, I love it.
  14. Was an awesome day. Good weather, nice cars, great people Thanks to Glenn for letting us know about this. Swap meet was a bit below par, but the amount of cars well and truly made up for that. And yes, always check where you park when at Amberley Beach, hahaha, bitch was crazy.
  15. right, after an afternoon fighting with rusty thermostats and bleeding the air out of a stuborn v8 cooling system, I think I have everything sorted, felixx, pm me your address and cell number (if you want) and I'll give you a call if we are going to be late in the morning. worse case, we will be in the wifes golf.
  16. Sitting at aa now waiting for first wof in 18 months. Oh the stress of a wof. Is like being back at school on exam day. Nah. Should be sweet.
  17. Sounds like a plan. Will have to get my arse up and drag the commonwhore out of it's winter lock up and get a wof and reg on her. will get back to you on the convoy, wof pending.
  18. Any more details on this. didn't know it was on.
  19. If you can't find anyone in Auckland, there is an old boy here in chch thats spent most of his life fixing trim, does awesome work.
