  1. Yeah i want a set, been wasting time at work trying to find some. how big are they?
  2. This looks cool. Will come and watch the next one and hopefully peer pressure myself into getting the falcon out there at some stage.
  3. Was watching this for a V8 parts coon. good score. Yeah WTF are those wheels?
  4. Sounds like a plan. If so, just bring her along!!
  5. Saw Sam earlier in the week and discussed that we need a meat. Whens a good time for everyone? Next Thursday perhaps being the last Thursday of the month?
  6. Sam and I are stuck at stupid work unfortunately sorry. Usual awsome organisation of Vegas chapter tho.
  7. Considering it was about 7 years ago i had this, ill try remember. GSR Sopporo is the only engines i have found the twin downdraft mani on here in NZ. TBH i really wouldnt bother unless you happened to have a mani lying around ( no one will coz there aint any) and then put some IDAs or somthing on it. The standard carbs are crap house. Twin downdraft webers might be better but i found a single weber 32/36 DGAV way better than twins. On a pretty much standard SOHC the 32/36 is a real nice upgrade. Cheap and easy to do with the standard single manifold. Will support about 150hp. If its from a 2000cc capri or somthing it will be jetted pretty much right, may just need to go up one or two sizes in the idle jets. Anything over that i would go quad bike carbs or twin sidedrafts. The best way to upgrade a mitsi is get a FORD.
  8. Swap the end over. Pretty sure the l200 driveshaft will be way to long
  9. Done this to your air filter box yet? Apparantly nets some good results
  10. Pugs a old tractors must go hand in hand. You need to have some tractor races with Cam.
  11. ^Yes a shorter shock would achieve less down stroke, hence keeping the springs captive, but the bump stops are on the shock too, so wouldnt increase the upwards travel if you get what i mean. Doing this means i get the best of both worlds with just normal shocks. I dont even think the "short shocks" for the rear of these even have a shorter body anyway. Just less stroke.
  12. Slight little update on the old girl. Have been enjoying alot of driving in it. So sweet for long distance driving. Covered over 1800km for the South Island OS Nats. Not a single issue. I was getting around 11L/100km which im pretty happy about. That was with at least 3 passengers and boot load of gear for 90% of the time. Removing the EGR and some of the emissions crap has made it better on fuel, also drives nicer, idles better etc. Seeing as whenever im driving this thing it seems its full of passengers and gear, i was getting alittle tired of riding the pump stops in the rear. There is a simple modification to increase the rear travel. Simply, its just increasing the tower top hats, known over in Ozzy as "Megatowers". Pretty much just cut and shut abit of tube in there to make them longer, thus increasing the travel. I used a bit of 75mm long 100x4mm tube, took about an hour to weld, clean up and paint, Not bad.Took it for a good drive out to one of the lakes today, roads pretty bumpy, passengers etc and it was smooooth as. Happy. Doing this also means i can achieve a shit load more slam if need be. Before and after. Fitted: Have a similar idea for the fronts, but i want to make them so they dont look like all the other shitty ones ive seen. Want to keep things looking stock as possible.
  13. Theres also a 5 speed borg warner "non t5" that where used behind the 3.3 falcons, mitsi sigmas and some escorts? (not sure). Apparently they are shit house and break easy as with anything over 150hp. You can normally work out what they are off the numbers on the side. I think its starts with a 5XX-XXXX somthing like that. Would be keen on a Ford T5 if you are gonna sell any.
  14. ^I think its pretty cheap from memory.
  15. I think we used to get them from the council. Sorry im not alot of help, cant remember shit. Testing http://www.k2.co.nz/ Read this http://www.level.org.nz/health-and-safety/airborne-and-other-pollutants/asbestos/ And this http://www.legislation.govt.nz/regulation/public/1998/0443/latest/DLM269298.html
  16. I used to do demolition of old houses. Getting all the native timbre etc. You can get kits to test it yourself. The shit thats in the walls etc isnt to bad. Its the crumbly crap thats around pipes and things that is the bad stuff. Theres not alot of rules around how you dispose of it (this could have changed in the last year or so, im not to sure) but just need to rock some disposable overalls, the right micron masks (cant remember what it was. They where 3M ones tho) and keep it damp with this special spray stuff you mix with water. Its piss easy to do, just think about what you are doing.
  17. The pump or the engine? Total loss or recirculating? Rotary screw or reciprocating?
  18. Make sure its jam, not marmalade. Marmalade will fuck the seals
  19. Jam any oil in there really. Hydro/ATF/Air tool oils work best tho.
  20. ^Yeah EP addative. SAE 80 is a mono weight gear oil. Just roll an 80w90 or 75w90 GL4 Do those boxes have needle bearings? If so, is sometimes a good idea to go with a ATF or 10w30 engine oil. GL4 will normally be better on changes due to it working better with syncros. Diff oil prob 80w90 but i have a feeling some of the jags have weird oils in the diffs.
