  1. Awsome.Bout damn time too. Bet the drive was fucken mean an hour in after you realise its not gonna break down.
  2. Small update. I have now sold my old green lancer to Bigfoot so more time, effort and money can go into this. Short term plans: Fit the engine with my R1 carbs (finally), all i need to do is get a manifold made up and adapt the fuel system to suit. Big dirty cam. Green lancer has a nice cam, still have the specs so somthing like that or larger. Fit mega jolt ignition system and VR4 coils. Still cant decide if to fit the bolt on flares and do somthing with wheels. Im thinking get new rims and fit my centres. Width, 7.5 fronts and maybe 8 or even 8.5 on the rear.Whatever i can fit under there really with alittle stretch. Get alittle more low and fit starion coilovers i have. Then Cert it until AMG engine is ready to go (long term). Odd bit of panel work that needs attention also. R1 Crabs. Mega Jolt.
  3. Time the beast moved on to brighter pastures. Its been sitting not doing a hell of alot for the last 6 months since i moved to Rootarua. I figured its a waste to let it rot so Bigfoot has taken it. Long live little green car, and have a great future full of skids, trackdays and modifications. i know thats what you would want... Its now your turn Mr Bigfoot.
  4. Whats the plan for it? Race car etc?
  5. http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=11026 Bigfoots got a new lancer, discuss.
  6. This may already be in this thead/im fucken useless, but are we having an OS park up or anything their and what time is everyone rolling to the meats? Is there a cruise or somthing afterwards or are we just gonna get drunk before the weathers on TV? Chur
  7. There HAS to be somthing wrong with it/thrash it more. Need to do the big ol swing in like the rota boys do it.Seemed to work well in my old XF lol, shit. EDIT: Keen, but please, be more gentle this time???
  8. Agree. On a less important issue, i can head over halfway through next week if no one local can do it. Takes about an hour to get there so will have to be about 730pm. Cant do it on the weekend as ill be down the ding for swap meat, will you be attending? Chur
  9. Fuck yea ill drive over there to look at it for you.Let you know how well it does a skid. I mean if it cant do sweet skids its a POS right?
  10. It will be the join between the fire wall and the engine that is for the heater core.Constant issue, i cant stop my LA lancer doing the same damn thing. Try putting new high quality hose clamps on there.
  11. Ill have an ask round for you boes, 70% of my customers are in that feild. PM me your cell
  12. ill try and find them tomorrow
  13. Are starion the same?I can measure mine, but they are starion.
  14. Are starion the same?I can measure mine, but they are starion.
  15. Diesel oil is mint in petrol engines, but like people have seid, there are different detergents in it and it will hypa clean things so always best to half the service period for the first lot as it will clog filter fairly fast. We use diesel oil for alot of race engines and jet boat engines for customers. even though there are the SN series now most manufacturers will have some kind of alternative that contains zinc in a heavier weight, ie 25w50 or somthing and call it "race oil" or some shit. Total has now released "POWER 50" 25w50 that contains zinc for the older engines. You can also get zinc additive, but im unsure how well it works as of yet. PS Penrites crap, i wouldnt even grease my doors with that stuff.
  16. One thing i have noticed is that the later of the fwd sigmas (must be the last of the carbies) go a heap better.Ive got 2 lancers, one with a mildly worked older 4g63 out of the rwd sigmas and one with a more or less standard later model 4g63. The later model is FAR better on fuel and almost goes as well as the other.Ive been told the later models are higher compression and have slighty larger ports. I dont know how true that is.
  17. I guess the l200. Its solid lifter, none jet valve head, and the gearbox has the shifter in the right place.only issue is that you will have to modify a l200 driveshaft/replace the yoke on your drive shaft with an L200 yoke.
  18. Try finding a turbo FWD sohc turbo sigma.woulds be a cheap way of going about it.I dont know if i would bother with a siruis dash engine or head, theres a fair bit of pissing around and you might as well get a cheap DOHC GSR or EVO engine.
  19. i wouldnt even bother compressing the standard springs aye.By the time you get it nice and low theres only about 30mm before it bottoms out and the standard springs are way to soft and it will just bump along everywhere. About the right hight is when the bottom control arms are more or less parallel to the ground. If you start getting to the point where the cross member is lower than the ball joints it will start bump steering like a bitch unless you make up some bumpsteer spacers. If you are going to go to the trouble of shortening struts (yes struts NOT SHOCKS), which really you need to do to get an EX low, you should use starion shocks or GSR shocks, its a waste on the crappy standard 1200 shocks as there are not real brake upgrades for them.
  20. You have to come sparkle, get your ass to rootarua and ill sort the rest from there.

    L300 van

Not meaning to hijack this, but phil, are those wideblock gearboxes hydro or cable clutch?
  22. Some dude on tardme sells them, cant remember his name.Normally lists stuff for toyotas but i got him to get me an adapter for my mitsi a while back.Good price too
  23. Seriously, have you even tried a search? Theres so much shit on here about lowering RWD mitsis. They pretty much all run the same bits a pieces. There was even a post about 4 days ago about making coilovers for an EX lancer
  24. Starion struts made into coilovers with bilstien shocks.Using starion control arms, steering knuckle and tie rod adjusters in an LA lancer (not really any different than an EX tho).I would suggest using starion as opposed to the EX or sigma struts as they use the smaller stub axle and hubs and have shit all brake upgradability. One issue im constantly having is the top hat rubbers only lasting about a year because of the increased stiffness of the shocks, even when using brand new tophats. ive ended up fully welding some up, but really need adjustable pillow mounts or somthing.
