  1. ^This! Drag racing is good clean fun. When I finally get around to building a purpose built car, traction wont be an isssue!
  2. Do you know Liam Matt? Or you in a different Val? I'd like to attend, but I got too much shit that needs to be done.
  3. I think the biggest hole is the oil return. The is actually a cast aluminium cradle that the blower bolts into. Although most folk dont have them. (I have the one which came with mine.
  4. Sorry. My mistake. I got beamed after work, and mistook the c110 thread for the 260 thread. As you were then.
  5. Yeah, it aint on here. yet cunts are saying it's an OS cruise. Leon and Gaz should sue them! Faece-book FTL!
  6. hey what heads do you have on your 318? (Number under the rocker covers) Mopar FTMFW!
  7. Ten-five! Did you sell'd it? Where is the new owner from?
  8. Buy some good pistons Alan. Don't be all like "Oh, I'm short on time, I need my car skid worthy now!" Rome wasn't built in a day. Get the bestest slugs you can find, and they'll pay dividends for years to come.
  9. My spare BBQ awaits your collection Leppa.
  10. If you have the existing facory wiring loom, and can source a wiring diagram off the net it's only about a 2 hour/24 pack job.
  11. The more slow cars the better! It's not about how fast you can go, it's about how much fun you can have. I've even raced my 17.8 second RB20e A31 when my datto was in bits. You'll still get a timeslip, and you'll get to see what your reaction time is like. (Practise is a BIG part of racing- there's lots more to it than people think) Plus if you do any mods later on, you'll have a benchmark to measure how much of a difference they've made. The winter street meets are just heads up grudge racing, so unless you can get a few mates with slow cars to go, expect to lose lots. (I lost all my races last weekend ) At the comp meets, after qualifying they run DYO, which is more about consistancy than out and out speed. Just do it!
  12. There's drags on the 13th of aug. And I have a datsun club run the following weekend.
  13. Single cam A31's and R32's have r180's. (short nose)
  14. I used to buy parts of a guy who lived in the big old house adjacent to the mueseum. He reckoned the guy was a bit of a dreamer/wanker. There is some cool shit out the back, but lots of it is too old/fucked to bother with. I also know someone who let him display a motorbike, only to have him sell it to someone over seas.
  15. I've seen an S13/A31/R32 complete rear subframe sectioned down and shoehorned into a front skid 323 wagon. (Now rear skid) The earlier type nissan IRS rear ends that came with the longnose diffs, weren't as good as the later style stuff. I have a complete r32 rear end sitting around if you feel the need to run a tape measure over it.
  16. Twas a great day out. Anticipating it being rained off, I didn't bother to remove my lowering blocks to allow the fitemnt of my sticky tyres. I really wish I had. Traction was a big issue. (Isn't it always! lol) The 185/50/15's I had on the rear were up to fuck all. Despite having some stella reaction times, I lost heaps of races I woulda otherwise won. The DOT rated drag tyres will be coming out next time for sure!
  17. Nice and cold for making power, and nice and cold for no traction. All adds up to nice slow times. lol
  18. Yeah, the fucking weather! The outlook isn't great.
  19. I just got the following info from the acting president of pegasus bay drags Gates are open at 12 noon racing starts 1p.m. onwards, race finish time is light dependant, somewhere around 4.45p.m, plenty of time to collect a dozen speeding tickets. Entry $10.00 per person entering the venue Racing $45.00 to race for the day, if you remember to present your entry ticket in to the entry booth we will refund $10.00 off your race price, a bonus for the driver. You will agree that this is a substantial price drop compared to previous events. So it's too cheap not to race. Get your sorry arses there.
  20. Leppa, you useless cunt! a week off work, and you only dive into your car on the weekend???? NIgger please! You need to lift your game son!
  21. A kid I went to school with who's folks had a batch in Kaikoura, used to own a go-kart that held the track record there. (Talking 20+ years ago) Fuck it, we should just pick a date and go. Just no dumb fucker announce that shit on faece-book. (Or I'll break your legs)
  22. I say Pete, Thoes 1/8 npt tappings could have another far more awesome use. Unless I'm mistaken, thats the same thread used on nitrous oxide fogger nozzles. Just on ebay, and find yourself a nice cheap kit. You know you'll be so glad you did!
  23. X2. I've even had loctited bolts come undone under extreme conditions. I reccommend chasing the threads with a tap, and cleaning the holes out with brake clean and compressed air.
  24. You'll need to get your car tech inspected. PM me, and I can give you the number of a guy who does Tech inspections. He's a real GC too. You'd want to get in quick though, as you'll need to send away to the NZDRA to get your log book before the meeting. You used to be able to pay extra at the track and get your logbook on the day. But the PBDRC have dumped the NZDRA as their sanctioning body. So the area steward probably wont be there to do that. (He works at my work, I'll ask him this week) Not to worry though. for this coming drag season, PBDRC will still allow cars with NZDA tech to race without wof and reg. My car was teched last season, and it's a big saving over paying through the nose to keep a car road legal. Especially if you hardly drive it on the road like me.
  25. They say it's been there so long it predates european settlers!
