why did you need to mess with the pressure relief valve in the first place? that is the first place I would be looking anyway

theres no black magic, just tune it right remembering that these dont have a choke like a normal car, so either up the revs for when its cold and accept a higher warm engine rpm at idle or keep the revs lower and accept a shakey cold engine and normal warm engine revs. Also check the timing, and balance between carbs

I probably would have said low pressure fuel infeed at the bottom of the tank or maybe just slightly higher than the outfeed to the high pressure pump, but I guess that could lead to fuel draining out when the car isnt running depending on the pump. Many other people do it the way you have mentioned by looking around the net so its probably fine too The low pressure fuel pump would not be adding any extra head by discharging into the top of the surge tank (it would but it wouldnt affect anything)

it should fit, although I think the bulkhead is further forward on a mk2 cortina so some exhausts may foul after the collector. Best bet is to check although probably not what you want to hear haha

can I ask what is happening with the setup? I was just going to have a filter and high pressure pump mounted under the boot tray with a fuel regulator and return line in the engine bay in my car. I have read that it works pretty good on escorts due to the vertical tank shape

hey when you are at your car next, do you think you could measure the inlet face of the head to the inner gaurd for me? I am making up a new intake manifold for my car but my engine isnt fitted and mk2 escorts have different inner gaurds

yeah I removed the vacuum check part out of the pcv valve and ran the hose to a catch can and it works fine. Make sure you get a proper catch can with a tube inside it so that the oil and mist separate properly

Also, I would recommend getting a cooker and chilly bin of some kind so you can take part in tailgate parties. We didnt do it but would have been super sweet if we had prepared for it you can probably spend like a day just driving around all the monuments in washington, its a cool place
