  1. Weapons of mass grill-struction up in hurr! Took the charcoal for a test run tonight, with a few more mods that badboy will be cold-killing and hot-grilling...
  2. Oh yeah Broccoli - chopped bars haha yeah I agree but there is a point where it goes from functional to fashionable! 660mm unchopped risers feel wide in city streets. Conversely though, a hand width either side of the stem is pretty ridiculous. Somewhere around drop bar width (400-450mm) is mean. Also now its broken you can make it fixed you giant wet potato sack!
  3. Looking good! Things to do now: Change to fixed, lose rear brake, angle seat properly so its level/doesnt poke you in the bum-bum, ditch inner chainring, chop bars narrow/shoulder width to squeeze through sweet gaps in traffic, get some clips & straps on the pedals, matchy-matchy handlebar grips. Don't worry about changing headset its pretty much the least important bearing on the bike (in terms of quality needed).
  4. The greatest thing about this bike is that you feel like you are actively committing multiple crimes just puttling down the road for a test ride. Can't wait to experience this new found ability to break speed limits!
  5. Basically a weekend in Jan/Feb/Mar. The bosses are away in feb so that probably works better for us
  6. Mean! Paint looks good. Ring-a-ding-ding
  7. Righto so I rode this up to the Leadfoot cruise a few weekends ago. Richie took some sweet pics, thanks Richie! IMG_2784 by SnoozinRichy, on Flickr IMG_2821 by SnoozinRichy, on Flickr Then on the way home about an hour from Taupo one of the exhaust headers decided that it didn't really like being attached anymore. The locknut clamping the header on decided to make a break for the tarseal, cue millions of decibels, farm animals running away and even worse fuel economy. A full new set of decals has also just turned up so I'm going to whip of the fuel tank, oil tank and side cover and get them tidied up and repainted before throwing them on. Exciting stuff.
  8. Cheers Karl and Amy for organising, and Rod and Shelly for hosting us and giving away the tickets that I won! So so stoked with that, topped off a mean weekend. Can't wait for the festival proper now! We had a good trip back to Taupo, the Kawasaki performed flawlessly the whole weekend until just out of Matamata when one of the exhaust header clamps decided to make a break for the road. Such a noisy last hour haha. Richie that photo is so so choice. Ringadingding
  9. Swapped the split and generally grotty old fork gaiters for some sweet NOS numbers from ebay this weekend. Once the new front brake cable turns up then it'll be ready for a trip down to VTNZ and hopefully come back with a fresh (classic!) rego and wof. Excitement!
  10. Yeah us Taupo/Hamilton/Southerly folks will probably be best to join up with the rest of the convoy in Kopu. Is BP Mill Rd the one in Drury or bombay? That will mean a pretty early start for us but all good!
  11. Now for the re rego attempt with a swap-meet rego plate and letter from the police stating no other interests in it
  12. This is such a key requirement for a good looking hardtail
  13. Mean! Put me down on the list that hasn't done an entry form then
  14. Took her out for a test ride the other night. Like riding a freakin' outboard motor! So badass. Still no videos.
  15. The brake light & indicators are pretty high up there on the change/smash list. Definitely not doing brat
