  1. I would be so keen for this to be implemented, had a continual pain with VTNZ failing the Niva for the rim/tyre combo not being "OE" as stated on the plate even though they haven't changed, quick picture of the car from cert day would tidy over, no fuss.
  2. I was expecting to get grilled for that, but had to check cos the late 90s/00 had some interesting colour schemes
  3. Stoked to see another 1600 on here! I wish you speed to having it back on the road. What colour is it, red or pink? hard to tell on my screen

If the idle does not increase momentarily when you push the nipple up that indicates toward a vacuum leak no?
  5. I have a 400mm length of pipe with a sensor that clamps inside the tail pipe. Have used it and seems to correlate well to the usual spot. Rigged my wideband with 2m extension lead and can be battery/cigarette/hardwired depending on the vehicle.
  6. Helical cut boxes will transfer load to the opposite end of the box, diffs will run pinions in reverse and hate every moment of it. Can a goldwing achieve torque values that reach this limit in a go cart? Worth a hoon 200%!
  7. Screw you all for making no effort, I moved 20 cars from the driveway today so the Datsun could have some fresh air!
  8. System will allow me to rego the cars, just wanting to fully understand what is legal before risking fines I can't afford!
  9. Ah, now those pages make sense, I was expecting something on the lines of "if rego/wof expires between A and B, the new expiry date is C" Will throw new rego on and give them a good warm up/run
  10. Am I blind or does it say exactly what date the wof extension is valid until? All the external links come up as dead
  11. Anyone have a link to the exact COVID WOF extension dates? All I can find is documents saying there is an extension but nothing that says what the end date is and what qualifies. The Datsun and Niva both expired during lockdown and wouldn't mind throwing rego on for a month to give them a legal spin around the block. /useless at the google
  12. Perfect! I'll put that in my build list, trying to plan this entirely so I can plug it all together over a weekend, not in the mood for development on my own projects right now!
  13. Yes, preferred option is analogue at this stage as they are all free pins, if I put a screen into play it will chew up the bulk of the digi ports. Unless i'm missing fancy tricks?
  14. On the new truck (Landrover Defender) I have a few sensors to place around, temp, fluid levels etc to keep an eye on vitals that were never given from factory. Having a dash full of gauges is not my cup of tea so i'm looking at wiring them to an arduino mega that then gives the option of a small display to manually select inputs and have an alarm system when things get bad. Keen to run a couple of pt100/1000 sensors while there but can't find a shield that runs 0-5V output, anyone have a lead on options there?
  15. Quite distinctive and all too similar to what some friends had for a very long time, was a well loved vehicle
  16. Didn't happen to buy that off a fella called Mark in Wanaka did ya?
  17. Do the badges not have the spiked washers internally to hold them on?
  18. Can you rig up a dummy exhaust that vents skywards for the O2 sensor to live in? Yeah it will change the tune slightly to the actual exhaust, but will save flooding it with water
  19. It will be the calling sound of the valley that tea is brewing on the manifold, come on over (In an hour or two)

Nice work on the switches, its quite a satisfying job! Be careful with getting into them with sandpaper though, if the contacts are plated at all, it can make them worse, grab yourself one of these fancy fibreglass pens https://www.warburtons.co.nz/shop/Shop+by+Category/Tools+%26+Supplies/Brushes/Hand+Brushes/FIBRE+GLASS+SCRATCH+BRUSH.html They polish up the contacts without disturbing any plating etc and have the bonus of being easier on curved surfaces than sandpaper.
  21. Thanks guys, i'm trying to ignore the incoming realities right now
  22. More I think about this, the more we need to discuss the details further!
  23. Sounds good, i'll have a close look at what I have to do to strip them and be in touch about blasting "It won't happen overnight, but it will happen" Darn you for suggesting gold chromate, that is actually a really good idea
  24. Seriously? well keen on that, was planning on dropping the whole lot off to a fella I know with one, the finish is just awesome! There are posts about Nissan throttle bodies that strong cleaners rip a coating off, my interpretation was guys pulled the butterflies and never took care to seat them properly, giving the impression of a removed coating. how much do you have to strip down for blasting or do you just have at it?
