When did high stop lights become compulsory as a retro-fit on old cars? I remember when they were first a thing in NZ in the early '80s all the talk was about how all new cars had to have them.

Can't beat the look of a real unrestored survivor. Seen a few getting around here in the South. Examples that come to mind are a one owner '60 Fairlane 500 with 300,000 miles on the clock and it looked like it, and a '27 Dodge Brothers 4 that was sold new in Balclutha and lives in Milton so still localish and a bit rough so the old geezer just drives it dodgy. My manual S model EA wags got 14 mpg towing a big double float empty from 'clutha to Colac Bay and returning with a cow onboard which I thought was not too bad.

Mate has a Triumph 2500 running a 3.5 V8 with big Holley carb on it. Reckons it goes like shit off a shovel.

Workmate's 302W XD sedan gets around 25 mpg just as a comparison. My 4.1 XC wags used to do 22 mpg.

Is that the good old 302 Windsor? I've been reliably informed that putting 289 heads on a 302 block ups the compression by a useful amount.

We remove the back seat from the work cars to dodge FBT. It has never been an issue at wof time.
