  1. I wanted a 110 but there was no stock so ordered the 125.

I got them for the same price. I would have gone for 110 cause no clutch cable, but was easy enough to rig one up.

I don't think  you'll regret going either way tbh.

  2. re: sandblasting (sorry started replying and actually had to do some work so now way off topic)

Take it somewhere good for Sandblasting like Chris did. My personal sandblasting stuff wouldn't cut the mustard   - way too weak / slow / shit.

All my chrome came off mine too, they managed to do inside the frame etc and it was a pretty quick process.

Advice is to get some primer on it pretty quick though so it doesn't surface rust - or powdercoat etc.

  3. I finally finished my wiring loom last night. All the lights I have work (aliexpress hurry up cunse) horn works, and wires don't get hot when I turn the key. Seems I mastered wrangling pixies so far, although will need to check for charging etc.

Nek is fuel (carb-spin and tank plumbing) then i can kick 'er in the guts and do hunnits on the stand cause still waiting for the rear sprocket to come from the internet land.

Also remembered I need to fabricate foot pegs and probably quite a few other chobs.

  4. I'm no metal gluer but what I have learnt is:

    1. What the fullas above are saying.

    2. I use argo-shield gas,  .6 wire (smallest I could find) and follow the instructions on the box.

    3. After cleaning with a wire wheel,  I often rag with brake-clean to get rid of any oil/ grease crap too. (This is mostly due to British car, where even the panel gaps leak oil.)

Also - take up peoples help offers. I would / will etc.

  5. Having owned one I suggest:

    1. lift the battery out and check that it hasn't rusted through directly above the fuse box. (water/rust/pixies are a bad mix)

    2. Don't break the rear window. (Get new struts if they have lost gas)

    3. If it has dog leg 1st like mine did, remember this at the lights.

    4. Don't lust after a 924.

    5. Skids are expensive with the rear trans-axle setup if anything pops.

Otherwise have fun. Pretty much a VW van engine so pretty reliable. Early fuel injection isn't worth touching unless you have someone who knows how to work on them. I had the turbo version which was quite happy to swap ends in the rain  - notably on the Khyber Pass on-ramp which proved to be quite entertaining.
