  1. I'm wondering if a whole batch of senders were just re-labeled switches. It's happened in the past with oil filters and the drain back valves being backwards.
  2. You were right, the library i was using likes hex, i figured that out while you were typing. Cheers.
  3. Hmm. Ok, serial print shows that the input is working well enough, just any command over 0x0009 doesn't work at all. I had it up to 0014 and it worked fine, spec'ed 0020 & 0019 back when it was working to see what would happen. It tried. Weird bug maybe.
  4. I"m not that advanced AKA IDK how to do that. Edit: i think i figured that out. Trying now execute_CMD(0x03, 0, 0x0009); Works perfectly. Now it works but execute_CMD(0x03, 0, 0x0014); ceased working.
  5. Got that sorted, cheers. But now i've got a problem with it sending certain execute_CMD's over softwareserial that doesn't appear to be hardware related. Was working fine before though.
  6. The example code in this, https://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=40982.0 Would that work for multiple input sensors or would it be trying to compare each sensor pin to the others and noticing they're not the same anymore?
  7. But it may happen that the diode would stop the capacitor discharging through the rectifier. You'd lose like half your watts.
  8. That's some good hints but i find it works if i use a different code library in the nano. Go figure. With regards to the bike parts. I'd go heat shrink and something like waxoil over the top, so you can remove it if you have to. Silicon is a one time thing. I've used wax but i don't think wax would like the wet heat-cold bike environment much.
  9. Any experts know why the DFPLayer mp3 module doesn't work with the nano the same as an uno? It's not co-operating with me.
  10. I don't understand why the people cut the slab that way other than to prove it can be done. If you tipped it on it's side you'd only be cutting through 80MM.
  11. At the arduino battery. The pins get higher voltage spikes... I'm going to sound like an idiot but everyone thinks i am one already, so who cares. Those are some impressive diagrams but i don't understand any except the voltage regulator looking thing. I wonder if i can use one of those AMS1117-5.0 The rest i have am not sure what i'm looking at or how it'd be connected. If i had been allowed to do more than basic electronics i'd probably know the answer to that ground bounce question. Also i noticed there is an error in that crude drawing. That diode connected to the "Arduino ground" actually bridges the output and power supply pins on that same transistor. And that diode you put an arrow to, without that the mostfet sometimes started making horrible noises until i added that.
  12. That's an interesting thought but i'm getting the spike if i simply hold a magnet near them. Fairly sure it's something from the coils and my shitty transistor array, and something something snubber diodes.
  13. The first one. The second one. Using that now. Today my tests revealed why one of the sensors was becoming increasingly faulty. They've been receiving 18 volt spikes. Not sure where that came from or how to isolate that from the arduino.
  14. I had a wooden box with fancy brass screws and clear plastic windows.... and a cooling fan. (Would post a video here but everyone would laugh at it)
  15. Made an electronic ignition using an arduino. Can leave it running on the bench for hours with an electric drill turning the cam sensor over, no problems. Put it in the car & it kills the arduino in 20 seconds. And for some reason it was putting the whole thing into a boot loop the few seconds before it died this time. Lucky i'm not using genuine, china clones are cheap enough to sacrifice a few but i think i'll stop soon. Used a separate power supply for the arduino & MOSFET drivers this time. Still cooked it. I don't get it.
  16. Will they be back this summer? Because i'm hoping my car will have some things done & be driving this summer.
  17. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/9-In-1-Painting-Spraying-Safety-Respirator-Gas-Mask-same-For-3M-6800-Gas-Mask-Full/32852184394.html Would that mask do for iso' with the right filters? I don't think those cotton filters are up to much.
  18. I don't see much point in an axle running over the top so it can't be loaded with stuff in the middle. I've seen trailers with those flexi arm rubber square duratorque things. They have a pricetag though and i don't think they are adjustable. Best i've seen was a trailer with airbags. It was for loading things but, you know...
  19. A rich guy i know had someone carve a plywood center console & had it covered to look orig'. If you run out of options.
  20. Steel BBs from the sport shop and pull them out with a magnet.
  21. I've tumbled things strapped to a car wheel before, let it idle for an hour on stands. Don't recommend it.
