  1. At the moment It is looking about $100 for the lodge for a night (I haven't been able to get through to the booking person yet) I can't take extra people but can take stuff down as I wont have a full tray
  2. Thanks to Neal I now have a new (to the car) fuel pump. It starts and runs nicely. Got a short vid then the linkages jammed. https://youtu.be/_Yj9xryUkM4 For sale. 5k ono Lightly rusty HQ wagon. Reg on hold. Black plates. Runs and drives. (not too far as I need to replace a fuel hose) It comes with a spare windscreen and orginal rusty passengers door which I haven't got around to pulling the glass out of All the chrome work is there and the dash top isnt cracked! Here are lots of photos of pretty much every bit of rust. http://s986.photobucket.com/user/rti_intrac/library/hq%20wagon
  3. I got carried away putting it back together so only got one boring photo. New red bushed -wow so exciting. THey didnt have any black in stock when I ordered them. both lower ball joint rubbers need to be replaced (i'll have to think about a heat shield for them or something). All that is left to do suspension wise is replace the bent shock and install the upper camber mounts I have a couple of sets of these https://www.ingallseng.com/35700-35710-camber-adjusting-control-arm-mounts.html Hopefully they can sort out some of the caster too
  4. Neal and I checked compression and its all pretty even across all 8 cylinders. We think its intake manifold related. Possibly a issue with the after market carb and the dual pane manifold not distributing fuel evenly. In the mean time I'll give the plugs a clean every now and again
  5. Yes tweaked 6s sound so good and can be as fast but its more of a hassle to live with. The plan was to have a nice cruiser with 'enough' power. I drove Neals 253 hq and it was good enough on the motorway. (and used heaps less fuel than my 202 in the tonner)
  6. I had a good chat with him when he did my rears. I'll give him a bell tomorrow
  7. No worries. That car had me scratching my head for ages wondering why they had suddenly stopped working
  8. I have been caught out before, There is a plug that goes into a relay of sorts in the kick/shin panel under the steering column. Make sure everything is plugged in.
  9. LS swap will fix all the problems
  10. All the plugs are matching and not too old. I have replaced them since I've owned the truck. I initially thought it may be a dual pane manifold/carb not liking each other but the fowled plugs/different runners didn't seem to match up. I will bring it over at some point and check it out
  11. Hmm it started missing the other day. Finally got around to doing a oil change etc. I pulled the plugs and some of them are really fowled and some are good. It could be HT leads but seems too random for that. How are some equally worn etc. I'm wondering if there are a few tired rings or if the manifold isn't evenly distributing the air fuel mix to all cylinders? I haven't done a compression test or anything yet. It feels like its got (some) power now.
  12. I messed/forgot about that post sorry. I had a chat with ness today and we have decided to advertise it for sale. It has been nearly a year since we got it and we haven't touched it in a long time. We both love the idea of a v8 cruising wagon but we don't have enough time and money for this and our other projects so something has to go unfortunately. we will do a stocktake and see what there is. We will be keeping the 253 and box for later
  13. I dont think so, It is on the piss in the vice which doesn't help.
  14. No pics but I have replaced most of the rear suspension bushes and started on the front and found a bent shock (as per other thread). Engine is still coming along slowly. Had a call from the engine builders today so I assume they were working on it
  15. I had the back ones checked out and shaft replacement at the time was more than a new one with labour etc. I'm wondering how the hell it got bent too (The car it came out of wasn't crashed at all). I'll price a replacement next week
  16. Thats what I suspected. The annoying thing is I sold my other front pair. Hopefully the other one isnt toast too
  17. I've pulled out the koni shock on the honda to find the bloody thing is bent. Is it worth/can anyone straighten the shaft or are they fucked and should I look at replacing them. Can anyone on here get me reasonable pricing on a new unit? part number is 8041 1200
  18. Yes they are haha I was like WTF when I pulled them out
  19. Still havent done anything about the amp/radio. My leds turned up today. I spent ages mucking around cleaning and messing around to get the cargo light working. I figured I'd just slam a 10w led cob into it. I butchered the old lamp and removed it. Drilled a couple of holes and slammed the led in. The driver will sit behind it. Its bloody bright. I'll find some screws, slam it back in and test it to see how bright it is. I ran it for about 5 mins and it seemed to top at 50 degrees Its a bit high for my liking but should be ok for the amount it'll get used. And the fact I can't fit a bigger heat sink anywhere. I will put a bead of silicon around the lens to try seal it better than the old perished stuff that's there. Drilled some mounting holes and slapped some thermal paste on
  20. Finished the amp today and it works. Stoked. I have a metal enclosure that I'll put it in tomorrow and see where I can hide it. Might need a small pre amp for A ipod or similar as its a bit quiet. It gets plenty loud when plugged into the computer. I will see if I can trace the AM tuner output in the factory radio and tap into that and use this amp Edit: While doing the seat cover I felt what I thought was a tissue but it was worse
  21. Got the rest of the components for the amp and got some material for the seat cover. I've started sewing that together. I't'll be interesting to see how it turns out
  22. I've a done few little things today. I fixed the bit of trim on the side of the tray which has been flapping/catching on stuff since i bought the truck. Finally fixed the cigarette lighter. The element doesn't work but I don't need it so all is well. Butchered the original speaker as it was toast and replaced it with a couple of 4". Turns out all the air con duct wont fit in now and the radio is a close squeeze. Re connected the radio and it works for about 30 secs then fades out. Had a go at connecting a aux in to it but that didn't work either. I've decided I'll cheat and use ad old amp I started making years ago so will mount that under the dash and mount some decent speakers somewhere else. The interior light/high low kick switch loom has been annoying me for a long time so I tesa taped it up.
  23. My friend has a logic probe asn we went over it. Found the 'minute' section is not being pulled low enough to trigger. Thats as far as we got, Will have another look later
