  1. altanator seems iffy. Goes flat if I don't drive every couple of days.but that could also be battery. Is the second alt I've tried. I tried another head unit today(first time in months) and it's doing something I forgot about. When you take the volume down to 0 or change radio station, it makes the sub do a big pop. Quite loud. Does that help at all? Cheers for all the help though guys!
  2. Hey, thanks for all the helpful replys so far. First I'm running an external amp, pretty sure I've tried removing that and running speakers straight off headunit. Same problem. I've tried a few different head units. A new Bluetooth etc one is a lot worse than my old one that only does cd and radio It's a rb25det so is running cool on plug I believe? My old man suggested suppressors the other day, that's what got me thinking about this problem again. I've played around with a million earths. Headunit to Rca cable new earth on block on alt on battery, Battery is in the boot so Rca and power supply aren't together.
  3. Hey guys, just after some advice. This has been driving me crazy. My headunit picks up alt whine. The higher the revs the higher pitch. I've tried Different alt Playing around with founds on alt headunit amp amd battery, I've tried grounding my headunit to my rca I've been to an audio shop and they had no idea, said they could try a lot of things but would be trial and error Whine gets a lot worse when I also charge my phone in cigarette lighter. I'm sick of driving around with a Bluetooth speaker. Please help Car is a 1990 skyline r32
  4. Those are some sick looking wheels. I think I had a similar set a month ago :L
  5. Picture less update unfortunately A few days after wheel alignment I brought a new daily and all my money has been going into that Starley got a new big diff leak! Have taken axle out 2-3 times and think I may have finally sorted it. Tried to start car for the first time today in a few months. Wouldn't have a bar of it. Checked everything and have no idea why it won't roar into life After 3 hours I kinda gave up in anger. I don't know what the bloody things issue is! Moved car into a new shed and got to buy it a nice new car cover as birds also live in the shed.
  6. Haha. Cheers. Yeah I had a quick google and doesn't seem like a cheap/easy thing to do so they can stay as they are. Just to find another pair now!
  7. Soooooo these arrived today! Going to paint them and polish them up. Not sure what colour. Maybe red? But will clash with my blue car I feel? Any who I love them. They are however all welded together. Is that much of a bitch to get undone? Flip the centres? I dunno
  8. Wheel alignment and getting camber within cert specs
  9. Diff is all back together and seems to be fine. Took it for its first drive with new mounts today and all seems well Gave it it's first wash since painting it and it looks beautiful. A few weeks ago I got a t3 intake manifold. The one on it was made horribly. It wasn't ported and made the engine idle like a bloody rota. Sounded cool. But not healthy. Put this ne on and bam. Runs like your everyday 4age. Only fucking loud! Only thing to do before cert is get fan wired up the right one. At the moment it's on when you start the car and turns off when it gets up to temp! Woo Going to take it for quick drives most nights over the next week or two to make sure it's all working safe and reliably. Cheers!
  10. New shock mounts made. Test fitted this morning Plan to put diff back together tomorrow
  11. I am now looking into doing some improvements similar to kpr suggestion for peace of mind.
  12. So what would u all suggest then? If you scroll Down to the almost bottom this is what someone else HAD to do http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~quibel/Starlet2c.htm
  13. Right. So this is in NOW. Without the shock on it
  14. No no. Three is a hollow tube there. Had a thread in it and and just a short bolt kept the shock pushed onto the tube. So if the tube snapped my shock would go. Now if the tube snaps that bolt that now goes the whole way through it will hold it.
  15. Did a little drilling tonight. Okay okay TWO HOURS WORTH, Drilled out the shock mounts on the diff and put in bolts! Apparently because all the weight of the car is now on these instead of the spring perches this will save my bacon if the weld ever breaks.
