  1. Alternator bearings? belt idler being gay? does it do it at varing revs when its still? Has it been lowered in its life? My shuttle has eaten the rubber vibration dampers on the cv shaft where it hits the chassis? one of these could be loose or something?
  2. take fuel hose off and unplug starter wire and hold key in crank position - done this on a few cars. Fuel pump usually 'primes' when you have key in start position so can use that to drain it
  3. Yeah that'll be perfect. Battery main same and ignition feed to the sense terminal
  4. Low terminal is for light. It is not quite a earth. The top diagram is mostly correct. I will do a Ms paint pic and put it up tonight
  5. Check from sender straight to gauge)(key off) amd if it's OK all is well. If not then start tracing wires
  6. Put some photos of it up. I don't imagine the coil/ignitor will be too oddball.
  7. Loose connection/poor earth's somewhere? Try checking continuity from sender to dash and make sure the wires are allgood
  8. Going to new school buick v6 it tonight
  9. Might bring the bike no registration no wof no worries right?
  10. I have made a fre things out of pallets and cable drums. mk1 bbq table is too small so made a bigger one. Made a bar leaner and a shoe rack (which is too small now)
  11. Both my oil pumps are out of psec clearance wise so I'll have at them practicing porting. Cant fuck them any more right?
  12. I have started assembling the engine. I've done the crank and spark plug seals, fitted the head studs ,gasket and head. I've started fitting the water pump pipe and thermostat housing. Put the vtec solenoid on. I'll get some assembly lube next week and put the valve train in. The crank girdle needed a bit of grinding so the rod ends will not hit it. I shouldn't be bending/damaging those rods any time soon. I've dummy fitted the churbo (still need to sort out gaskets for it). TOmorrow I'll clean the oil lines and figure out that plumbing. I'll dig up a service manual and check out the oil pump clearances and give it a port. I have two oil pumps so I'll practice on one first.
  13. Tickled? Shit you'd be locked up if you Tickled your Mrs like that.1200 is pretty rough as a pay out. I am hoping mine gets repaired. I went into a couple of panel beaters this morning and eventual got someone friendly and helpful. Someone from alpine happened to be in on his day off and was really friendly. I'll pick up the estimate next week and go from there
  14. Open header backfiring 350 might not be popular with the neighbours. I have all the drivers details so will sort it
  15. No photos of motor yet. It got reversed into by a truck today and despite my hoarding shuttle parts I only have a spare guard. I'm in the process of getting quotes to get it fixed. It looks like it needs a guard and bumper/bumper support. Luckily there is little damage to the frame/chassis. Now I have a total of zero cars I can drive haha
  16. Widen those steels. White povo commercial spec looks good
  17. Shocks and tires have been changed since video, handbrake slides are gay with this (yes its not true 4wd) but the hand brake still wont lock the rear it just slows everything down. I think the easiest thing to do will be re drill the trailing arms to suit the bars I have. The video has a severe lack of driver skill too.
  18. Looks good! Your keen doing that work in your drive. How is the car cover holding up? My one has started to go rotten/silly after sitting outside. I wish my 350 made that power, It barely makes half
  19. Phone takes shit photos in the dark. Better wait untill nats to see whats in the back. Will be packing tools to change the alternator belt as it loves to eat them.
  20. Amp is installed (with cable ties) and works. Doesn't go super loud but will be better than silence and no alt noise which is a bonus! Seat cover turned out ok. We still need to sort out the base and figure out a material that we can swe/attach to the cotton so it lasts longer than a few farts as it pulls and rips really easily. Found a cool switch mount in my stash of stuff I greased up the ash tray and it slides in and out easily now which is nice and makes the dash look a tad better with one less hole
  21. Dont have a photo of the pood up sender. Just imagine lots of epoxy. I finished the amp and put it in a old box I found. Slapped some clear on the old paint and I think it turned out ok. I have run out of time to properly mount speakers so will just use the ones I have already made. It took WAY too long to get the power indicator led in the hole but its in now. I'll put a bottom plate on it and screw it under the dash somewhere. Just need a aux in cable and we'll have some (quiet) tunes. I'll have to get a cable gland from work tomorrow and see if there is enough time to stick it in if not ill use it as is. Still need to test it with the car running and see if there is any alternator noise I cut and ness sewed the seatbelt holes for the cover. We will probably end up safety pinning it together for this trip.
  22. So the fuel leak was the tank vent tube on the sender having a crack in it. I went nuts with some knead it epoxy and filled it again today and it seems to be happy and leak free so far. Trans leaks are all fixed. Needed a pan gasket and new speedo gear/housing. They also pulled out the seatbelt switch and slapped a bung in. For the first time since owning this it actually holds ALL of its fluids in
