sheepers MS51 of hyperbolic enlightenment and anomalies

This car is sick! Looking good. What's the deal with the front shocks being upside down. I guess it is for clearance but will they still work ok? -
For street cars the vacuum secondary carburetor works best on midweight or heavyweight cars with an automatic transmission. They are more forgiving than a Double Pumper is because they work by sensing engine load. The mechanical secondary carburetor is best on a lighter car with radical camshaft and a lower gear and manual transmission or on a car that is going to be used for racing purposes. Have a go on this; http://www.holley.co...rbSelection.asp

Double check battery terminals are tight. Is the dizzy secure? Blocked fuel filter?

Looks so much better without those hub caps. Are they diamante wheels?

I reckon so. Some one else may jump on and have more advice tho.

As suspected that is a quady manifold and square bore holley. This open adapter would probably be better. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/performance/carburation-induction/auction-529620066.htm

I'm no expert but it sounds like the manifold is a spreadbore and the carb is a squarebore? The factory 4BBL carb would probably have been a quadrajet. I think this is the one you need but could be wrong. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/performance/carburation-induction/auction-529234460.htm Have you got some pics of the manifold and carb base?

Same place again? Why not a diffferent BBQ spot? -
Dont quote me but I think HQ axle splines are the same as ford 9'. But I'm sure other mods would be needed to make them fit in your diff. I have heard of guys using HQ axles, tubes and brakes on a 9' centre. Probably easier to get the axles you have changed to HQ pattern.

If you are around the upper porirua region a would reccomend Glen at PLIMMERTON PANEL AND PAINT. Awesome work but may be a month or two wait before you can get a car in.

So many pulling out already. I'll be there with bells on, even tho it's about 44 mins from home. Hopefully K-Trips will see my commitment and let me buy an oldschool.co.ng sticker for my Buick. -
You can bleed the master cylinder when on the car. Just crack the pipes and put a rag underneath. It'll save having to pull it off again.

I'd love to see some pics. Have a read of this. //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/34643-how-to-add-pictures-to-the-forum/

I'll be there with my big green wag. Looking forward to meeting those that were in bathurst last meet and others I didn't talk to last month. -
Is the headlight switch on the idicator stalk? If so it may be worth a look there.

I got the Buick out to take the young fulla to the Wellington hot rod show. Noticed the brake pedal was a bit low. Got a bit further and could smell petrol. Quick check under the bonnet, fuel leaking after the filter. Had no tools so turned back for home. (5 mins away). By the time I got home had about 10% brakes. WTF. Tightend the fuel line hose clip - leak sorted. Checked brakes, found fluid leaking from the left front nipple. Replaced nipple, bled brakes all good. While I was in fixing buick mode I pulled out and freed up the right rear brake adjuster that I knew was seized. When I first got the wagon I noticed the kickdown cable was not connected at the carb and had no linkages or bracket. I figured it was due to a rebuilt carb resently been put on. Had a look underneath and found 2 kick down cables?? After further investigation I found the factory kickdown cable is connected to the accelerator pedal. I guess a replacement trans(TH350) has been put in at some stage and the monkey that put it in didn't know what they were doing. Whipped the trans pan off to connect the factory cable. Google told me it can be done without removing the pan but I wanted to change the fluid anyway. Kickdown cable connects here; Found there were no magnets in the pan. Fluid looked clean so I guess it hadnt been in too long. Put 2 magnets in. Back together with some new ATF. What a difference the kickdown makes! It will be easier now to pass Honda Citys up the Ngauranga gorge hill.
