  1. Porirua Cylinder Testing on Mohuia Cres refills Co2 last time I checked.
  2. Aloha. I’m currently drinking cocktails in Waikiki. shed warming coming soon
  3. Can you wangle in an oil cooler for bonus capacity? Keep up the good work.
  4. Yep yep. Keen to celebrate the young fulla’s big day. There’s going to be a yardy, right?
  5. My recommendation would be to take it to a panel beater to assess and get a letter from them. End of the day it is up to the WOF inspector, so maybe try a different garage {after a wire brush and some rust converter} for a second opinion/ WOF.
  6. Nope. Would need to be a hole bigger than 50mm unless it is near a suspension or seatbelt mount.
  7. Cannot have mirror tints unless they are factory. I don’t think a sunroof would be a problem.
  8. I’d say it would be up to the inspector to decide. Could be failed with… depends on the inspector’s interpretation of the VIRM & whether the suspension does what it needs to do.
  9. As long as it’s 100mm above the road and has a gap to the bump stops, it’s fine.
  10. Hi @Chris Els welcome to old school. Make a WTB thread in this section… https://oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/forum/8-parts-for-sale-wanted/
  11. Here’s the rules: https://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/general/vehicle-interior/interior-impact As long as there are no sharp bits, it should pass a WOF.
  12. I haven’t come across that before. Sounds like you need to do some digging. Sounds valve train to me.
  13. “6. A windscreen and front side windows must be clean and free of obstruction to ensure the driver has sufficient vision through the glazing to operate the vehicle safely.“ https://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/general/vision/glazing#tab3 it’s probably OK for a WOF, as it is outside the “Critical Vision Area”. End of the day it’s up to you as the driver. In saying that. If there was a sticker on the windscreen where that screen is it would fail. I fail WOFs weekly where muppets have a phone holder stuck to the windscreen in front of their face. Have a look at the screens in front of taxi drivers and they pass COF.
  14. We are too. Base is a cast iron pot. Big chamber is an and old LPG cylinder from a car with the ends cut off.
  15. Zero smoke once it’s going. Neighbours have never complained.
  16. Not built by me, but here’s the waste oil burner at work. Goes hard for what it is.
  17. Not much to see in the dark, but could do a weekend visit if you guys are keen. Hopefully getting driveway repaired soon, otherwise some may not make it up.
  18. Well done KK! Big effort. Keen to see & hear it irl.
  19. For what it’s worth… I’m a full time mechanic and a cheap bastard. I use a Ryobi 18v rattle gun at work, mainly because I already had batteries. I did have the cheaper brushed model that lasted 18 months until I wore it out. Took it back to Bunnings with no receipt and got a warranty claim. (Manufacture date is stamped on the tool). I paid the difference and got a “HP Blushless”. That meant I got a new 6 year warranty. I have used and abused it for a year so far without fault. I sure it’s not as great as a more expensive brand, but it does what it should. https://www.bunnings.co.nz/ryobi-18v-one-hp-brushless-mid-torque-impact-wrench-skin-only_p0294858
  20. Your best bet is to pop into a Toyota parts desk, ask them to confirm if your car came with one & ask them nicely to print a letter that says it didn’t. Then you have confirmed it is “as manufactured” unless, of course, it should have the load sensing valve.
