  5. I have a question! I'm planning on rolling a solid front end under my 1999 chev s-10 blazer 4wd. I will need to weld some new mounts to the chassis for the leaf springs to bolt up to as well as welding new mounts to the diff housing, will this have to be TIG welded? and whats the limits on the amount of lift I can lift on the suspension? I plan on using 35'' tyres here is a pic of an s-10 blazer that has had the SAS treatment cheers in advance

  7. What are you fucking zipperheads looking at?
  8. That green ranchero reminds me of the movie Gran Torino with Clint Eastwood Anyone seen that
  9. Hey man this is sweet! Your battery reminded me of a funny story from high school Mate of mine had one these ( not sure on the year) but the battery was under the seat. He was shaggin some chick in the back and the seat springs shorted out on the battery and set the interior alight. haha awkward even more so as it was in the school carpark!

  13. http://www.superchevy.com/how-to/45638/
  14. I can do but there are shit tonnes of pages (that ive been reading depends what your after) Thirdgen.org are good for later quads 73-87.com -chevy truck site has a few good tips for modding hotrod.com (I think thats them -gave me the basic rundown on vac tuning) there are more but hey Uncle Google is your friend here i typed in things like" quadrajet running rich at Idle with new cam" Edit: sorry not Hotrod.com but superchevy.com
  15. Ok I had to take the carb off and I did some basic checks all the screws that hold it together where loose. but the rest checked out ok ( for now) I will be rebuilding it down the line. removed the steel plugs that house the idle mix screws. and cut some grooves into the heads as they have no provision for screwdrivers. Since then I have been reading up on tuning q-jets and the like using a vac gauge. not as accurate as a wideband but i thought i'd give it a go. gotta say spenno I dont know why people poo-poo the quaddie cos it was quite easy now my 308 is idling like a boss and has a nice crispy revving sound (if you get what I mean) the only thing left to do is to recurve the dizzy. mind you a wide band is still a must in IMO along with the book your thoughts/abuse please!
  16. Intake manifold gasket? My Ba XR6T when I had it started idling high and doing all sorts of shit because the intake gasket was rotten around No1 intake port I know they are different engines but it may help
  17. strewth! thats cool shame i cant dish up multiple likes on this cos I would
  18. hey man sweet find. apart from the rear end whats the rest of the car like for rust?
  19. or VK buckets are practically a bolt in job using factory holes in floor. the panel gaps on WBs dont get me started! you need those L shaped plates obviously but Undo your rad support and try to get that sitting as far back as you can This should help with getting things to lineup I gotta 15mm gap between the bonnet and the front panel its yuck!
  20. I agree with there mate! they are freakin sweet
  21. ok cheers for that . I'm keen to roll with the quaddie as it was mint on the stock engine . i'll get a wideband and book and report back cheers edit: BTW the mixture screws are still wearing the anti tamper caps do I just drill them out ( carefully) and what direction does the screws need to be turned for enrichment/leaning Ive read mixed reports on the net.
  22. ok sorry for being brief in my earlier posts. I know its being rich as i had the rear half of the exhaust done the day the old motor died (died on the way home from the shop) there was no carbon buildup on it . within 10 mins of starting this new engine the pipe had carboned up and a rich unburnt fuel smell lingered in the air. the time it sat around in between was roughly 3 months. from what I have read so far that the idle bypass air circuit thingo isnt getting enough air through it and there seems to be 101 different ways to get around this. drilling 1/8" holes into the primary butterflies seems to be what some of the aussies are doing. seems a bit brutal any ideas are most welcome!
