  1. Nah, the 1300GT's came with 32 DGVs, which are very difficult to get hold of these days. I'm still rocking the 1300 in mine too, planning on getting a 1600 one day, but for now the 1300 runs well, is cheap on gas and doesn't leak oil. When I get time/money I'll build up a decent 1600 for it. I've been thinking about making up a bike carb manifold for it, once the manifold is made up it will bolt straight up to a future 1600. Jetting would obviously need to be changed, but once you've got the hang of doing it from the 1300 I doubt it would take long/be difficult to redo it for the 1600.
  2. Yeah, you'll be in for a hard time getting a 32/36 running on a 1300. I rang Murray at Weber specialties, and he basically said that I was an idiot for trying and that you'd never be able to get it running nicely. Regardless I had a go at getting it going anyway, and never managed to get it running nicely and it drunk fuel like nothing else. Bike carbs are probably your best bet.
  3. I've been out Redwood ways a couple of times recently, certainly wouldn't say I spend a lot of time out there though. What's next on the todo list? Acquire rego?
  4. Could be the throttle cable sticking. A bit of crc/wd40 down the sheath works well, if you have a syringe stick some oil down there with that and you'll be sorted.
  5. I love these Bedford vans, especially how tidy your one is. Most seem to have had the hippy spec or matte black treatment

Looking pretty tidy, agree with needing to sort seat and ditch indicators. What style bars are you going for?
  7. Considering old cars used to have cork head gaskets, I doubt fire would be too much of an issue. Then again, I've never tried it so not too sure. Could probably test it in an oven or something. Just seems to me like something that will compress more easily might help matters
  8. Have you thought about using an alternative gasket material? Older cars used to use a rubberized cork compound stuff which I recall had quite a bit of crush/give in it. Dunno how you would get on finding something suitable, but if you could find some you could have a go at cutting out a gasket. Might take up a bit more of the gap perhaps
  9. Sweet score! I agree, looks a lot better without those flares on it I reckon.

I reckon some Z bars would look pretty sweet. Sorted out a fork conversion yet?
  11. Don't they record the engine number when they re-vin? If so, I'd guess chances aren't very good. Obtain 1200 engine, re-vin, swap in 1500 engine, profit?? As they are bolt in there isn't much effort involved, I'd imagine you could probably pick up a a12 cheap and flick it on for basically what you paid for it afterwards?
  12. After having such a good time hooning around on my moped I decided I needed a motorbike, so have ended up purchasing a kz440. Unfortunately I don't have the money, time or space to hang onto everything so the blue ma50 is sadly going to have to go to fund the re-rego of the kz. Anyone potentially interested in it?
  13. Fuck yeah, that thing is going to be awesome
  14. Looking amazing man, love the custom EFI setup
  15. I can pick people up from the airport and have at least one seat in the escort going up.
  16. Next plans are to sort out something for those side covers then paint engine black. I have ordered some super bright cree LED stuff to replace the headlight as it's currently pretty crap. Will make up a rectification/regulation circuit for the LED driver and might convert the rear light at the same time. Will look into pricing up a slim seat for it soon. Been doing a bit of research on expansion chamber design, so that might be on the cards in the future too.
  17. Found some motivation to get onto the a50 over the weekend. Went for a metallic gunmetal grey for the tank and black shocks. Need to do something about those plastic side covers. Thought about removing them completely at one point, but decided that it wasn't worth losing the 2 stroke tank and having to run pre-mix. The tank is far from a perfect job, but shouldn't look too bad with a bit of a polish once the clear coat is dry. I tried no guards, but decided the back looked gay with nothing so chopped it down a bit. Reckon it would probably look better with it chopped back further, so will get onto that at some point. Might look better without one on the back with some slam.
  18. The mechanic I yarned to when I was having issues with an air leak recommended it, just a very thin smear.
  19. Obviously not a good solution if its a serious bow, but would giving it a smear of some silicon gasket sealer do any harm?
  20. Fuck I love this car, got some photos of interior and engine?
  21. How many OS members are there in Dunedin?
  22. I too could be quite interested in this. What would the go be on doing some minor work to the car? Would the car being non-drivable be an issue?
