    Welding VS brazing

    At my old work we built alot of motorcycle frames, they were always brazed, the frames with cast lugs that we repaired were silver soldered (easyflow) its strong as hell, I easyflowed the hex nuts on to my cylinder head through bolts on my BSA, they haven't failed yet. you do need to make sure the parts are very clean. I use oxyacetylene I have an old acetylene producer, only have to fill my oxy cylinder
  2. Dose anyone have a link to ruels or have any info about roll cages? Someone I know has 2 cars he wants to put on the road but I don't think it can be done with out major problems as they have home made full roll cages.
  3. Is it running sweet now? I have had annoying problems with my red brick, turns out the near new dizzy rotor had a capacitor in the top, the spark was jumping over it. Dose your cylinder head have holes for injectors?

    Misfire at idle

    Dizzy rotor has a resistor in the top, I think that was bad, replaced the rotor and now its running sweet, missfire seems to have gone.

    I should do that next but I don't have a tester, I wiped the cam cover off and a quick check with the engine warm they all have clearnce. feel like paying someone elce to sort it out, I have wasted about 4 days on this allready.

    I replaced the gasket, it runns better but misfire is still there, plugs look like it was / is running lean, will check timing like madmitsy says, I have allways just twisted the dizzy round till I find the spot it runns the best
  8. Could you drill the bolt head conners and use lock wire?

    found that the intake manafold gasket was leeking a bit, I hope this will be the cause of all my trobbles
  10. You could get a metal spinner to make you some nice pancake air filters and use the elements from a Triumph or something.

    I have a 1981 Volvo 245 GLE with Kjet fuel injection witch has developed a intermittent misfire at idle and seems to do it a bit when you pull away from the lights, it seems to run very well otherwise, has good power. and is good on gas I have replaced plugs, HT leads, dizzy cap, injector O rings, tried a different IGN coil, Plugs look like it has been running lean, I don't have any way to check the fuel pressure, but I have enough spare parts to replace most of the K jet system. the air control valve seemed to have a hole in the top by that small nut is that ok? I smoked some tea leaves and blew the smoke in the vacume advance tube and it was comming out that hole witch looks like it shouldn't be there. What elce should I check? any good DIY tips?   14. You should check your SWR or get some one to check it, Ya shooting skip is a bit of fun, the guys in hawaii are funny as hell
  15. Is it on the 26mhz? You could probley shoot some skip with that big antenna, I have been talking to western australia latley

    Yip it was air lock, let it cool right down and the level in the expansion tank went down, toped it up and its away.

    I will have another go tonight and report back, I can squeeze the hoses and get most of the air out on this car

    I have had this problem a few times before after draining the cooling system and leaving it for a day or so with out any water, when I fill it up and run the motor the thermostat won't open anymore and is stuck shut. but put a new thermostat in and its sweet. Just put a new thermostat in the volvo but had to redo the water pump seal and now the bottom radiator hose gets hot as hell and the top one is cold. I have got all the air out. temp gauge shows its getting hot and it over flows from the cap. Any tricks to fix this problem?
  20. is the mic and PPT actually in side the shaver case?

  23. Yer the wipers are slow as hell, any faster and they would fall off the yanks like the coffin nose with the 4 round headlights, I think that looks a bit strange Make some extractors, I didn't do a very good job but it made it pull better round the 2000 2500 RPM range
  24. Good score on the volvo, I drive one everyday but mine isn't a coffen nose, dont change it I reckon, is the odomotor working?
  25. Did you find the bearings you need for this motor and the V twin?
