Finally a car worth showing people! Just picked this up yesterday as a weekend car.

Can't believe how tidy it is, especially inside! Hoping to tidy up the paint, stiffen things up a little with Cup suspension, maybe build a cold air box. Oh and find some nice light 15x7s for it, maybe Enkei RP01s

Took a ding in the back at a stop sign and got an $8000 repair quote, sounds like it's going to be written off. Can't really afford to get something else to drive plus buy the Clio back and repair it, so I'll let y'all know if it's going up for auction. @Mattwho? Need a parts car?

$4000 in parts from France, $4000 in labour. Wonder how much they'll offer it back to me for, I'll find out early next week.

$10k, it's being written off, just waiting for the offer for buyback and the payout amount. Eyeing up a first gen V70 or XC70 2.5T/T5 for ultimate dad-wag vibes.

The insurance company wanted $2500 for it deregistered. I'll keep an eye out for the Turners and Trade Me listings and post links here in case anyone wants a racecar project

If anyone does end up with it, I have some spares that I didn't send off with the car, too. Oil filters, original steering wheel and stereo, wiper blades etc etc

Looks like an easy fix. Does de-registered mean it can never go back on the road, or just lots of red tape?

I think with a porta power, factory chassis measurements and perhaps a few spare panel cuts it could be done.

Well the car is gone, went for $2070. Someone in Auckland added it to their horde, he now has 7 Clio 172/182s, including one he has owned since new. Pretty pleased it's gone to a good home! Mods, feel free to close the thread.
