PeteHZ Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 Could some knowledgeable person please tell me if a TH700R4 4L60 non electronic trans (VK, VN, VP) including flex plate, starter motor will bolt to a Holden 308 engine with the chev bell housing pattern? I know the bell housing will just wanting to make sure the other parts play ball before buying this model transmission. Cheers Quote
Kiwibirdman Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 As long as you have the right bolt pattern on the block everything else is good to go. Quote
nzstato Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 ^ yup, friend did the same a number of years back... had lockup converter on a seperate speed switch. Quote
MRWEST Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 I put a VP 700R4 behind my LS1 and it bolted up, Just need to make sure you g et a v8 one as believe the V8/V6 Bellhousings arent the same (what i was told anyway) Quote
Spencer Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 Yeah if you get one off a v8 car with the flex plate and converter then you are good. The only tricky part I guess is setting up the cable correctly on your carb or throttle-body but there are lots of kits for that on summit etc. Pulled one out of a V8 VN and bolted it up to a 350 all good. PeteHZ Posted June 29, 2020 Author Posted June 29, 2020 Thanks for the tips and info guys it's been a big help, now I need to find one! Cheers Quote
8ball Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 Hard to find a good one now. Getting expensive. Cases are usually stuffed. But yep if you have a "turbo" pattern block (former th350 or th400) then it will bolt up. Or a conversion plate can be used if trimatic pattern. Quote
