Gaz
Just wondering if anyone has used one of these. Lucas 45D Electronic Dizzy - http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=990715961 mk1 Cortina has no spark from dizzy to plugs and dizzy is pretty old and worn. Rather than buying new condenser, rotor, points and cap I thought Id just upgrade to electronic. I believe I can use on both my current 1500 and the 1600 Kent once I rebuild. Keen to hear more info/review from anyone in the know. Or other options / better pricing, Thanks Gaz
Big Value Buddy
Hi Gaz, I've just fitted one of these to my Escort last week and it works great. I was already electronic (I had one of Aidan's Subaru converted ones), so I'm not really noticing any difference. I got mine from the same guy. I called him direct (outside of Trademe). I got the coil as well and he shipped for free. He was a decent dude. Cheers, Richard.

pusherman
I have one of them. It burnt out the supplied dizzy cap in about 3 mins. But after putting my old cap on it has been fine for months

Gaz
Accuspark seems a bit cheaper, anywhere in nz to get em or are they all order in from UK? . Gaz
tortron
Mine was ex UK from their site. Only other place I have seen them is eBay at a higher cost. Have heard of issues with the rotors not fitting. Not sure if that is fitting to an original distributor tho. The unit I have is made well, castings are good, the cap is a the same quality as any other reproduction of seen

Gaz
Have emailed. Looking into the one with programmable curve for potential future proofing. Also to note: Cost to buy parts (rotor, cap, points, condensor) to refurb a std dizzy is $150... well worth the extra little bit for a whole new electronic dizzy!
