anglia4
Help! Went to fill up yesterday morning and can't get the fuel door open on my corolla. The lever moves, and it sounds like there is movement at the other end of the cable but its not unlatching the door. I tried putting a wedge in the door and pulling the lever hoping that would help it pop but still nothing. Now i'm at work and the low level light is on Any ideas of things to try before I follow the apprentice' idea with some acetylene?
ajg193
Not very helpful, but my old fx-gt lost its spring in the fuel flap so wouldn't open by itself. I just put my car key into the gap and pulled the lever and that worked fine.
AllTorque
If that ^ doesn't work... Can you remove trims in the boot and see where the cable goes in? You might be able to wangle your way into opening the door.
igor
Sometimes the remote release solenoid on my coon doesn't click so I just spring the clip with my knife. Not recommended at big city servos due to some city folks paranoia.
anglia4
Got it open, needed someone to hit it and jarr it a bit while I held the lever up
