Elmo2003
well picked up both b1600 diffs from palmy on friday managed to squeeze them both into the back seat ov a vl commodore had to take the rear door handles off and bash in the studs to gt the doors to close then got a txt/call from a mate in Oakune asking if i was selling 1 so called in to his place and sold 1 to him so ended up with jst 1 coming home but still means i gt 2 at home yussss
MACKAZ
B1600 diffs aren't that strong really, a standard 253 will snap an axle easy, admittedly still stronger than the Ford diff, myself I wouldve coughed up for a Hilux, more ratios and bigger diameter axles. Most mazda diffs we have found a 4.875, there is the odd 4.55 out there, hiluxs are either 4.3 or 4.55 but you can find a 3.9, 4.68 or a 5.3. J-W-G
Nothing wrong with a b1600 diff in a light car like an escort! And a pinto isnt going to break it anytime soon, ratios are abundant and anything from courier/b series fits from 3.7-4.8. I myself have a 4.3 lsd from a courier
MACKAZ
And a pinto isnt going to break it anytime Bruv it's got a SR20 in it......and a SR20det waiting in the wings, I personally have smashed B1600 axles with a TIRED sleeved 253 Holden V8 I just don't wanna see him spend all the time going to the effort of throwing a diff in it that's got carrot axles..... Elmo2003
I hav a few mates wiv rotaries running b1600 diffs and they are definitly nt gentle on them and they hav survived a hidding for a long time I dropped a little skid in my drivway yesturday and suspect i broke another escort axle az only had 1 spining u would thnk that wiv a lockd diff both would spin but nt yesturday If the b1600 breaks it breaks i guess so far for my conversion its only cost me about $110 that includes buying 3 diffs selling 1 and getting discs and s3 rx7 calipers also hav made caliper mounts for free

My bad, automatically think power/escort=Pinto. Anyway we wont know till it does snap if it does
