DoBro Jesus
hey fellas, getting pretty sick of the sigma having feck all grunt, how would i go about doing a blow through turbo set up? i've heard the 32/36 webers are good for this sorta thing, but what else would i need and how hard would it actually be to do? i'm completely lost when it comes to this stuff haha cheers! fuel
don't bother. Just find Starion manifolds, ECU/loom and do that.
Jase
you'd do better to just give the original motor a cam and a freshen up unless you want to cert it or pull it back to standard at wof time
Ogre
Yeah, rock the weber carb, re jetted etc and get a nice cam and maybe a freshen up if needed. Dont bother with a turb setup unless you wonna go with a starion engine or go the DOHC rout.
DoBro Jesus
Yeah looking at evo set up later down the line, but that's a while off yet, how good are those weber carbs compared to standard mitsi ones? And would it be worth skimming the head for better compression ratio and port and polishing maybe or is it wasting money going to far into it? Just really wanting more grunt for as little money as possible haha
OSM Garage
I wouldnt go that far with your SOHC. Save your pennies and go DOHC Turbo.
P_Star
It shouldn't feel too slow with a 63 in there... EX isn't too much heavier than an LB is it? My LB with 4G63 felt pretty damned peppy... Not that turb/starion/Evo etc isn't a smashing idea... just odd that it feels slow as is.
fuel
Vince it's in a Sigma. If you want to keep it N/A and SOHC but don't mind converting to EFI you could use the 4G64 2.4L 16V engine from the 93 onwards L300, L400 or Triton. Good power and torque upgrade and it would bolt in onto existing mounts but you would have to swap to a Starion gearbox.
DoBro Jesus
It's a sigma not lancer haha standard 2l that it came with haha
OSM Garage
Good power and torque upgrade and it would bolt in onto existing mounts but you would have to swap to a Starion, 2.6 L200 or 2.6 Sigma S/W gearbox.
P_Star
That makes far more sense... I should learn to read (no idea why I thought/assumed it was an EX) lol *Goes back to work/thinks about fixing Lada* haha
