BattleSnayke
Something suitably big, a crown or Cressida or something similar
Vintage Grumble
What sort of $$$$ will the AE70 be going for?
BattleSnayke
I chucked it up in for sale, open to offers and swaps etc but not too keen on selling the wheels. Hoping for around $6500 otherwise I'll just keep it. I don't really have a reason for selling it other than my mate just got a 1UZ Cressida and I've fallen in love. Guest ryanfels
Why not covert to rack and pinion?
Guest Seedy Al
Also what ECU are you running?? there is a Chap on here Nanarie (think i spelt his name wrong there) he has a ke30 running a running a silver top he converted his factory ECU to run Wasted Spark instead of Dissy, looks heaps tidier, so if you are using the factory ECU (tho I am guess it would have to be a black top one with those trumpets) then he could be the man to talk to. Guest BattleSnayke
Yeah have a blacktop ecu but I'm not 100% convinced that it's going to work, I was thinking that I'd have to fork out for a aftermarket ecu like a link.
Guest ryanfels
Why wont it work?
Guest BattleSnayke
I don't have a reason to doubt it if someone else has done it, was just expecting it to be more difficult than it has been so far. First time do a engine swap so learning it all as I go.
Guest ryanfels
A old mate of mine had trumpets on his silvertop just by using a blakctop loom and ecu. The only real difficult part with the 20v swap is the dizzy hitting the firewall and the waterlines can be tricky to make if you want to make them tidy and hidden
Guest BattleSnayke
Do you know how he ran the silvertop itbs on a map sensor? I had read somewhere that the vac sensor on black tops is at a different point?
Guest Seedy Al
usually the sensor should be a sperate item. just run vacum line to sensor, mount where ever you see fit. this is just speculation tho, as i have never played with silver slash black top stuff. but I assume they are all the same as any toyota Silver tops dont use a map sensor to start with, they use an AFM
Guest BattleSnayke
I understood that silver top had a afm on the outside of the itbs and blacktop have vac on the inside of itbs.
Guest Seedy Al
yeah that is pretty much true. but you can get vacuum from where on an engine after the throuttle plates in the ITB's As every vehicle need vacuum to operate boosted brakes etc. I'm pretty certian silver top ITB's have a vacuum balance pipe or some such in them, which is where you would be connecting your Vac pipe to the map sensor
Guest NicT
Those relocation kits are good. They work exactly as intended. Are you getting it from Sam in australia?
Guest BattleSnayke
SQ Engineering? Getting a few parts from them. It might cost a little more, but it makes it easy and tidy. Getting one of their coolant setups as well
