mk2 gt
Hey guys i finally got my carb setup on to my 2-Tc, im not running a low fuel pressure reg so i think its over fueling it as they are meant to run at 3psi and its spitting the fuel out the front and vent holes at the top. I have also noticed a nice little squeak noise its making which is hard to tell in this video until the end when i shut it off. Any help would be hugely appreciated! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=qfxredUJ2s4
7ESKY9
Yeah man get a fuel reg on it did all the same things with mine running to much psi. Set it at 3 psi and should be good as

shaneo
You need a low pressure high flow fuel pump. I got one from part master for $90 for my set up. Sounds to me like over fuel
Rookie
Also it has an air leak.
mk2 gt
The air leak is not going to be fun to find.....
peteretep
a standard pump should flow enough fuel, if it is standard im surprised that the pressure is too much air leak shouldnt be too hard as you should be able to isolate each runner and test from there

peteretep
yeah its a shame, most mechanics seem to be real against it for no reason
shaneo
lots of people get them but finding some one that can tune them is a different story
mk2 gt
another question the fuel reg i have here doesn't have a fuel return line? do i need to run one of this carb setup with mechanical pump or will it be find without it? what have others done? peteretep
nah you dont need a return line if the regulator doesnt have a fitting for it
kicker
Even when bike carbs are on a bike it's hard to find someone to tune them, most shops cbf'd

bubblegoose
a bike mechanic is your best bet, thats the only reason i like them. just dont go to an old guy they dont like it
mk2 gt
cheers, i have ordered new float needles etc so ill replace them for piece of mind that should rectify the over fueling problem *touch wood*
bubblegoose
read up on balancing bike carbs, its real easy to to do and you don't need a fancy set of gauges you can use a length of clear pipe to make a cheap manometer. make sure you get your fuel pressure to 3psi and have the carbs balanced before you do any jetting changes
shaneo
I have a carb balancer that I bought specially for the carbs makes life very easy with out one they will always be a problem. Once balanced they are magic and sound great. Pm if you need some help but balance before buying parts
