ProZac
I'm putting together the order for the bits to fit the td05h to my Starion. The oil supply is baffling me a little... The turbo has an M12x1.25 thread, which seems fairly generic, and is nice and easy to get AN adaptors for. The supply from the oil filter housing has me a little stumped however. Ive circled the stock supply line in red in the picture below. Ideally I'd like to do away with the adaptor that's in place, and replace it with a -4AN adaptor, to match the turbo side. Can anyone tell me what the thread in the oil filter housing is here? (not the flare adaptor screwed in). It's tapered, if that helps. I really need to study up on threads other than nice simple metric ones!
Ogre
You sure its not metric? looking at it i would guess at 1/4 BSP if its not metric.
ProZac
Nah, definately not metric. I did some measuring and it looked close to the specs for 1/4 NPT, so I ordered an adaptor to -4AN... Was only like $4.50 if I'm wrong. Will try 3/8 BSP if so, cheers.
Dell'orto
Automotive is usually NPT, so you should be on the money.
eke_zetec_RWD
Measure the inner diameter and the thread pitch and a close up pic and post it here
ProZac
Alas, not 1/4NPT, has one more thread per inch, so that's 19. I'll find a 1/4BSP apadtor and that'll be the go.
yoeddynz
Looks like 1/8 BSP- I have a tap for that one. Not that it helps you.
ProZac
Nah, definately 1/4BSP Tapered. No-one seems to do a nice alloy adaptor to -4AN, so I bought a steel -4an fitting, and will weld it to the original fitting .
