two_days_late
Parts finally showed up from Burton, they'd basically forgotten the order it seemed. I called after hearing nothing for another 2 weeks and then it was sent the next day, anyway its all here now so stoked.
camo_78
is that cambelt pulleys at the bottom of the photo or narrow gilmer drive belt and pulleys??if its gilmer drives im extremely jealous
two_days_late
Doesn't have a cambelt But yea its a different style drive kit for the front belt (Crankshaft, Alternator, Waterpump), looks similar to gilmers and should make it look a lot nicer. Have also got an electric fan that will be tucked up under the radiator shroud so you won't really see it but means I can ditch the old viscous fan. http://www.burtonpower.com/water-pump-alternator-drive-kit-15mm-alt-shaft-x-flow-fp225dk.html They do a kit for the pinto as well. shaneo
Cars looking really good like the belt and drive. I'm going to order a set of hoses for my car.
two_days_late
Cheers mate. I get the car back next weekend from my mate who's been doing all the panel work. So next step is dropping in the motor, then getting all the drive train sorted. Don't want to move my shifter back with the 5 speed so next tricky part will be the 5 speed gearbox mod. two_days_late
Ah sweet good to know. I've already got my box/clutch/flywheel and am planning on doing this mod to it: http://www.british-cars.net/mg-midget-sprite-technical-bbs/5-speed-type-9-gearbox-gear-lever-position-200810110843355749.htm Will post pics and info if it works. Cheers EDIT: This mod is worth looking at if you want to change shifter position as well. http://www.lotuselan.net/forums/download/file.php?id=19578&sid=fc76060225b9ce90d980e9d8e883952b
shaneo
Hey you selling your carbs what are you planning on running now?
two_days_late
Been chatting to the guy at Weber specs in Auckland and its gonna be cheaper for me to get a reconditioned set of DCOE 40's all kitted right for my engine and sell the ones I have, rather than paying to get these ones setup properly. So still side draft Webers
Horse25
looks good! That starter motor conversion is the best $120 i ever spent, could properly do it cheaper if you know what honda to get the starter motors out of. I haven't touched my sport since i thrashed it a few months ago haha. Will you get this on the dyno?
two_days_late
Yea its worth trying to figure out, just waiting for mine to show up now. I'd like to dyno it yea. Will be interesting to see what kinda power it actually does put out compared with the claims you hear about with similar mods. I'll happy if its over 130hp but as long as it goes along nicely then that's the main thing.

two_days_late
Cheers guys. That would be cool Shane, is your gearbox mount an escort or sierra one? The mounts on the floor of my car at the moment have already been messed with so I'm not sure which mount will be best to start with. How much do you want for your one? Cheers
