Truenotch
Do those rear stays stop before the back of the inner guards? If not they're not legal by MSNZ standards... Looks like they've been put in 4WD style (behind rear guard). (a) Longitudinally, the structure must be entirely contained within the confines of the front and rear axle centre lines http://motorsport.org.nz/assets/MotorSp ... A-2010.pdf Doesn't look like it does that to me???
craigbuckeridge
yes they go past the wheel wells so do they need to be replaced but the are there cos of the angle the are meant to be on msnz
Truenotch
They can go straight to the shock tops. It's the best place to have them and you can add a seatbelt bar to it easily that way. The regulation says the the minimum angle in relation to the main hoop (vertical plane) must be more than 30degrees. Yours is more like 30' from the horisontal plane. Here is 30' in relation to the roll bar (in red): Yours in more like 60': 60' wouldn't be as strong in a rollover I don't think and you're losing the benefit of connecting to the suspension points.
