It will be the stock sierra bellhousing, since pintos and kents use the same one anyway lol.

Its easy enough to put a T9 behind a Xflow you need:

*hillman hunter clutch plate

*Escort pressure plate

*auto/RS2k/custom driveshaft

*pinto Cortina speedo cable

*auto escort xmember fitted backwards is meant to work (or just bolt the sierra one through the floor)

*you need to trim a few mm off the end of the input shaft otherwise it loads up the thrust washers in the engine

*and of course you need to cut a new hole for the shifter

legend. thats the exact info i needed chur. have an old drive shaft that came with motor that seems to fit the splines on the t9 box so i should beable to split and fit with my escort 1. must say the drive shaft does have a random ruber donut thing joining the output and drive shaft at the gearbox end looks to be a weakness. any way got to spannering this arvo guna pull it out motor and all and paint the engine bay while im savn/sourcing the rest of the bits. cheers for the help

I haven't tried it myself so I can't guaranty it but using the front section of a Sierra driveshaft with the Escort hanger and rear shaft section is meant to work.

Cortina and Sierra shafts are the same total length but the split and hanger etc is further forwards on the Sierra driveshaft

(I am 99% sure its the Sierra with the shorter front section)

The doughnut/coupling is meant to be good for up to 200hp if its in good condition, but in my experience they are prone to perishing and cracking with age.

if thats the part im thinking of theyr shit...i had the rubber coupling anti vibration thing or whatever teh fuck it is, anyway had one tear off in a mk5 cortina at a set of lights...didnt even dump the clutch...

to me at the time had all the symptoms of no clutch/blown box etc, but a quick look underneath with it in gear and running showed the rubber do dah was fucked..

luckily i walked to my uncles place around the corner and picked one up from a wrecker for $20..score..

there used to be a really good tech archive thing on 5speed in to eskys etc...
