d.p.n.s Posted July 15, 2010 Share Posted July 15, 2010 ok i found another 1256 motor for my viva it will start and run but as soon as the float bowl is empty she dies and i cant seem to get the float bowl to stay full. i have tryed 2 fuel pumps and both work i have tryed 2 carbs and its doing the same on both (forgot to say zenith carb) now one of these carbs i had on the fucked motor but it would still start and run. any ideas? is there somthing that im missing here. cheers dan Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

EvoBilly Posted July 16, 2010 Share Posted July 16, 2010 mate of mine had the same issue but turned out the carbs were set real rich and it was using more fuel then the pumps could supply, as you have tried 2 carbs im guessing 2 of them can't be set wrong. my ute also had a similar issue as the pump is on the engine, one of the hose clamps had come undone and it was drawing air in the hose with a little fuel so in saying that maybe a lose hose clamp or a small hole in one of the hoses between the tank and pump.
