Kelvin
i remember reading some were years ago that there should be some thing like 25mm between your intercooler and radiator to prevent heat soak or create turbulance or some crap, can any one spread some light on this please? i have tryed to do this but am kinda running out of room, i figer as long as they are not touching each other they should be sweet but any advise any one could give me on this would be great, cheers. dirty_leppa
on all the trucks at work they have about an inch gap between cooler/radiator. hope that helps/ probably doesnt
bubblegoose
will putting them on an angle hlp your clearance? radiators dont want to be too close to your intercooler but aslong as there not touching and you keep the air going the right way (fishcous fan?) you should be sweet
84_S12
More importantly: whichever gap you settle on, ensure you use a good shroud between them
Simon
More importantly: whichever gap you settle on, ensure you use a good shroud between them Should they be shrouded? If so then the gap probably doesn't really matter?
bubblegoose
jeah shroud is a must
SHGWAG
Just V-mount it FTW / nah. You would want a gap to stop heat transfer from radiator to intercooler, other than that just shroud the bish & you should be sweet
Mike-e
if you shroud them gap will matter fuck all as long as they're not touching.
Kelvin
mean thanks guys, vee mount would be nice but no room at all for that, the engine still has to come down a bit more at the front which will leav me with even less room.i was told today that some rotarys had a smaller water pump? will try looking into this but if i can move the coolers closer together that should give me enuf room. cheers
SHGWAG
Electric waterpump might give you more room?
