Unclejake
I have not read all the above posts but a Subaru Leone distributor will go into your block after a bit of surgery (to the dizzy) and gives you electronic ignition in one fell swoop. I think they are about $30 from PaP and a noob could modify it to fit in about 4 hours and with about $4 of parts (just a roll pin and an angle grinder blade)

peteretep
hey im going through this jaycar thing, its pretty cool, but anyway, its main use is to work with the jaycar programmable ignition, so there ends up being two ways of putting it together, one way has 3 transistors and the other only has 2. For the second setup, it says "it is changed to 'fire' a plug when the input signal goes high", what does this mean? also in the second setup, it says "With this arrangement, the coil "charges" when the input signal is low & "fires" a plug when the signal goes high"
peteretep
anyone? i dont know what it means when it says the input signal goes high or low. it also calls the second setup "positive-edge firing" what does this mean?
Yowzer
I'd throw a guess to say that the high input signal would be a pulse from the dizzy? Other then that, I don't really know
