HELP!! Anyone on here work for Toyota??

Vintage Grumble

Recommended Posts

Well, was racing at Taupo on the weekend, and broke the clutch member in the LSD (factory one) :? If anyone on here works for Toyota, could you please let me know if you can get one from any where, part number is: 41307-14011

Also, could you let me know the price of a TRD 1.5 and 2 way LSD head for an early AE86.

And if anyone else knows of a good place to get a new LSD from, could you let me know.

Cheers.

Cheers for the info guys.

Mr.Mk1, unrecognised = discontinued im guessing? As in no hope in hell of getting one? I'll txt that dude and hit him up about the TRD LSD, cheers for the hook up :D

Looks like i'll have to get an after market head, but shit me, they aint cheap, they seem to go for around: Cusco = $2600

Kaaz = $1800

Tomei = $1690

Hope the TRD ones are a bit cheaper, but on the TRD site it says the early type LSD's have been discontinued :(

I txt that dude (where is he/who he work for Mr.Mk1??) and he can do the TRD ones for $900.00ish, or about $800.00ish if ordered 2x, not bad compared to the other brands, so looks like thats the way im gonna have to go I guess. Has become a fairly expensive track day :rolleyes:

I aint the sharpest tool in the shed, that there diff inter-change-ablity thing, will each of those diff heads fit in each other car on that list??

as far as i can remember that all the diff centers will fit, it the corrisponding cars in that list

i.e i could slap a altezza center in my jzx100 and be done with it etc

what have you broken?

i still have my old open center diff center floating around

$900 is a good price for a trd lsd, thats what i got my 1.5 trd way for two yrs ago, and with the yen the way it is atm, its a bloddly good price

to add to the list

however there is a difference between the side drive shaft lengths of a Torsen and the ones fitted to an open wheeler, the open wheeler is the same as an LSD.

if your car has an open wheeler centre, then a TRD or an aftermarket LSD, 1Way, 1:5Way or 2Way will drop in and you can use the original drive shafts.

if your car has an open wheeler and you want to fit a Torsen, then you'll need to also fit the 2 driveshafts from the Torsen centre as well.

if your car has a Torsen and you wish to change it for a LSD or Locker, then you'll need to swap over to open wheeler drive shafts.

also not every AE-86 centre will fit, only the model's listed.... same as the GX71, only the 1G-GTE centre will fit, not an MX-73 or an MA-61 Supra.

provided you keep your original housing and crown and pinion gearing, then you will need to take note of the side shims thickness that are fitted to your centre, and make sure they each go back in their original place.

FLAWLES, cheers for that interchange thing, very interesting, I do have a welded up, and a std open center I could use, but it just wouldnt be the same :lol: The bit I broke is the block thing that the spider gears hang off on the std LSD, known as the "clutch member", one of the spider gear shafts broke off.

fuel, yeh, thats a bit pricey for a second hand one thats making funny sounds.

serves me right i spose for beleaving ozzys :P

Not having a go dude just theres 4 different diff head sizes for the cars listed in that list. All the big cars in that list have F or G code diffs which arn't going onto a t series crown wheel any time soon.
