V8Pete
Probably a bit far north for you chaps, but this little settlement is so spooky. There's also a 100 year old jetty thing that goes for about 54645 km into the seahttp://maps.google.co.nz/maps?f=q&hl=en ... 5544475487 To far north and they probably want to keep there wheels and shoes... Seedy Al
heres some pics from two weeks ago. First we wnet for some back road driving in the epic Sun! Found a road that had three bridges just to go to one farm, man we pay same tax for usless roads, There was remains of an old bridge And the sun killed my mean pic There was this mean as stock stop out there though And we found this super sweet hood Commer camper The next day we went on a decent trip to a few places my old man Told me about, First was an old logging tram way that ran on wooden tracks, wasnt as exciting as we had hoped........ but still lush walk and equally lush place to camp sometime old track Old fireplace [ And an old bridge I assume saw a super sweet Dragon fly And Joe the unit went cray hunting Crips bitch And this sweet as Building then we headed up to Woodville where there is an old coppermine way up in the hills On the way we stopped at anzac bridge, which is gay, the new briadge is much for lush And this sweet as Building from over the road from the Woodville train station And on the track (much more of a mission than we thought) we crossed this slip, using cutty grass to hold on, was epic/ dangerous as, super sweet A bit dissapointing, The mine was filled, but thre was some steel and a few relics there But, there was also an old magazine there, whi9ch we decided couldnt be bothering to check out, and turns out its still open and shaft like, haha, but oh well, once again a mint walk So yes, more to come for sure A few things to do. Drive up to the Mast on the hill at woodville, which is 930m up, so should be sweet view. Also, Otaki forks has two old saw mills, and a sweet as suspention bridge,m so will be doing that too for sure And head to New Playmouth and Wanganui as there was heaps of sweet shit there tooo Allan
V8Pete
This reminded me of going up some hill thing in/near Wellington where they used to have trains that had some extra wheel in the middle or something to get up the hill that they've since bypassed. There were lush relics and shit including a tennis court and toilet from memory.

V8Pete
Did some of that Forgotten Highway thing, but turned off way before Taumarunui (I think) and ended up going on a lush as B road through a lush ghost town called Matiere. The wooden gable-roofed tunnel was lol. Camera ran out of battery ftl though. There's also a mean abandoned jail at Ohura. Matiere Ohura
V8Pete
Also, Patea's mean. Looks like you can get pretty close to the part of the freezing works by the railway line by car. The other burnt down part looks dodgy as and is fenced off and you'd have to park near some locals' houses.

V8Pete
Also saw this meke shit in New Plymouth. and Hawera When we were looking at those railway relics, there were some guys moving one of the wagons and they invited us to their workshop where they had even more mean old shit and their wives put on a worthy feed. It was lush.
